Time Managment

Kaylie Jackson created schedules to plan how she will manage her time in college. Her current high school schedule allocates most of her time to class, homework, sports, and social activities. Time Management
Through this essay, I plan to show how I will productively manage my time while I attend
college. Although this calendar is very subject to change, its a good conductor of how I will be spending
most of my time.
Below is a chart of how I currently spend my time in high school. It is based off my average
routines and schedule.

Looking ahead on what my schedule might look like in college, I created some classes based off
of information from the ASU course catalog. Through this table I was able to see how much time I would
be spending in my studies and much little time I would have for my other activities that I am currently

To get the closest idea of what my college schedule will look like, I asked a few of my college
friends to tell me how many hours they spend doing certain activities. I compared their answers to my
daily routine and priorities and constructed a model for myself.

After looking at my current time chart and my predicted college time chart my percentages of
time for daily activities has remained fairly the same. Of course I have had to cut out some time from
other things to get more homework and studying time, but other than that, all remained fairly close to
my current schedule. I am surprised however, that from the data I collected I will be receiving more
sleep in college then I am currently. I will also have much less time to care for my personal hygiene then
I due currently because of early college sport practices and closely timed classes. That worries me a little
because I care about keeping my hygiene up, but I will just have to practice how to get ready faster and

more efficiently in the mornings. I believe that once I make the choice of what college I will be attending
and the schedule for their dive practices, it will be a lot easier to find ways to manage my time. Im
looking forward to finding the best plan for me as I journey down this new and unfamiliar road.
