Pledge Wall in Reducing the Bullies and Bullied ones of First Graders in JILCF
Bocaue, Bulacan.
I.

Introduction
Bullying has been a big issue all around the world. With all

schools talking about bullying and the media regularly reporting on latest
research, it could seem like our world is in a bullying epidemic. According to
statistics reported by ABC news, nearly 30% of students are either bullies or
victim of bullying and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day
because of fear of bullying. Everyday people all over the world are being
bullied. An estimated 200 million children and youth around the world are
being bullied by their peers. Kids who are bullied three times more likely to
experience depression. Those who are being bullied frequently more likely to
develop psychotic symptoms and the most dangerous one, Children who are
being bullied up to nine times more likely to have suicidal thoughts and can
lead in ending their lives. According to CDC, suicide is the third leading cause
of death among young people, resulting in 4,400 deaths per year all over the
world. Over 14 % of high school students have considered suicide, and
almost 7 % have attempted it. Countries with the most bullying in the world
according to studies are Slovak Republic, Poland, Luxembourg, French,
Switzerland, Canada, Portugal, Belgium, Russia, Estonia and Austria.
Philippines is also known for cyber bullying cases.
Cyber bullying in the Philippines is becoming an issue, and
what proves is that according to google, Philippine is considered the 4th
country in terms of cyber bullying. But not just cyber bullying, According to a
report, many incidents of bullying are reported every day in schools, both
public and private. The Department of Education documented many cases of
bullying since 2013. Provinces in the Philippines are starting to pass an AntiBullying Law to lessen bullies in every provinces in the Philippines.

One of the provinces in Philippines is Bulacan recently to

pass once again an ordinance about anti bullying ordinance because it also
reported to have some bullying reports. One of the town in Bulacan, the town
of Bocaue where JILCF school is located have some bullying cases that needs
to be resolve. Ive proposed some ways to resolve bullying problems and if it
will work out, Im planning to perform it in JILCF located in the town of
Bocaue, in the province of Bulacan.
The proposed solution Ive think of are: Performing a skit
or role play regarding bullying, all kinds of bullying and its causes and
effects. In that way, they will understand it more since its a skit. Second is
having an information booth where it contains informations about bullying
and the next and last thing they need to do is to pledge in the pledge wall, to
promise that they will never bully again. My target audience is first graders
since according to statistics, Children as young as three can be a victim of
bullying so before they start bullying, Ill stop them.
