Slug Catcher Sizing Guide

This document provides sizing calculations for a slug catcher based on operating conditions of 120 MMSCFD of gas and 2,308 kg/h of liquid. The calculations determine the dimensions needed for the liquid and gas sections to separate the flows within specified velocity and retention time limits. Key dimensions calculated include a 3,500mm internal diameter, 11,500mm length, and liquid retention heights ranging from 300mm to 1,500mm. The maximum gas velocity is calculated as 2.09m/s, within the design limit.

NOTES / REMARKS
1. Slug Catcher sizing is designed based on 170 MMSCFD of gas and 72m3/day of liquid.
2. No margin is considered on gas and liquid flow.
3. 11.3 bbl (1.8 m3) of slug size is considered from NLL to LAH.
4. Slug Catcher dimensions considered here are for information only. Internals are not considered for sizing Slug Catcher.
Vendor to advise specialized internals to be incorporated in the slug catcher design for efficient separation and size
optimization. Final Slug Catcher size to be confirmed by Vendor.
5. K Factor value of 0.12 taken from GPSA Sec 7 Fig 7-9
