NYC Councilman Steve Matteo was our guest speaker. He highlighted the
legislative accomplishments as minority leader. E-waste pickup program is
now in place along with assistance getting items curbside. Street resurfacing
has seen increased mileages in scheduled and completions. Funding now
in place to tackle the large backlog of tree stump removals. Other issues
discussed included: SIE HOV lane enforcement, Oakwood Beach seawall
construction, and Fall leaf collection dates.
Audience members raised concerns regarding a local restaurant that has
been observed washing equipment in the street. Outreach was planned for
a resolution and updates will be provided when available.
Cara Buonincontri, Assemblywoman Malliotakis representative,
announced a free document shredding event on 11/12, and a resolution to
the large tractor trailers that have been parking along Fr. Capodanno
Boulevard.
Anthony Esposito, BP Oddos representative, requested feedback regarding
the intensity of the new LED streetlight being installed.
Our annual holiday celebration will take place on Tuesday, December 6th,
in lieu of a formal meeting, at our usual location inside St. Christophers
Community Center.
