Q2. Work Breakdown Structure
A work breakdown structure is a key project deliverable that organizes the
team's work into manageable sections. There are various issues and concerns
raised at the first meeting like tournament rules, importance of qualified referee,
design of t-shirt and sweatshirt etc. The advantage of using WBS would not only
help in organizing the project work but also help Nicolette in assigning
responsibilities, understanding cost and time estimates, scheduling and this
information could also be used in the future for similar events.
Q3. Additional information to develop WBS
Nicolette can use brainstorming strategy with co-workers and interviews with
top level management. She can also do a secondary research on how these kind
of tournaments are organized and talk to event management employees and
other soccer clubs to gain more insight into developing an efficient WBS.
Q4. WBS to generate cost estimates
WBS would describe all the deliverables of the project. The cost and time
estimate of each deliverable can be calculated easily as the project has been
subdivided into various small manageable tasks. The main objective of the
project is to generate additional revenues to refurbish and expand number of
soccer fields at Rock Rimmon soccer complex and to augment the clubs
scholarship program. The cost estimate generated by WBS will help to
understand the projects profitability
