Pastors Remarks
Dear Church Family,
The year 2016 has gone rather quickly. There have been some challenges as well as
blessings and accomplishments for Gods glory. It is time for us to focus on the new year
and see it as an opportunity to be and do what God has called us to.
What kind of vision do you have for the future? Let me encourage you, if you have not
done so, to set some personal goals for yourself, in the areas of physical, emotional,
financial and spiritual. What about some goals for your area of ministry in your church? Of
course, providing that Jesus does not return (which could happen anytime), where do you
see yourself, your family, and your church this time next year?
I believe that 2017 will provide you and me opportunities to be witnesses for Jesus.
People will be observing us, as Gods people, as to our attitude and behavior and how we
respond to lifes challenges. What a great time for us to be able to share a witness with
both our example and our words, to what God can do. He still gives love, forgiveness,
hope, peace, joy and purpose. How can you lose with those provisions?
These are some things that I wish for all of us for this new year:
1.
2.
3.
That God would nudge us out of our comfort zones, as we seek to obey Him. It is easy
to get in a routine and become content. Sometimes we need to take a risk for God and
step out in faith.
That we would know the thrill of personally seeing someone come to know Jesus.
Remember that everyone will spend eternity in one or two places, heaven or hell. How
exciting to know that someone is going to heaven because you had a part in sharing
Jesus with someone.
That we would seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. What is priority
in your life? We are called to love God supremely.
My prayer is that we, as a church body, are all that God desires us to be. It is not so much
about doing church as it is about being the church. Lets be found faithful in this new year!
Happy New Year!
Bro. Darrol
For I know the plans I have
for you, declares the Lord,
plans for welfare and not
for evil, to give you a
future and a hope.

A big thank you goes out to all who help with our Heart Pillow Ministry. Some work at home cutting out
or machine sewing the pillows. Then there are the busy hands who come once a month to stuff, do final
stitching, tag and bag the pillows. Others deliver the pillows to Tampa General Hospital, this year 619, and
to Lakeland Regional Hospital, 420 pillows. Several local folks also received pillows. Then we must
remember those who donate material or money to our project. May God bless each of you.
We have a special need at this time for cutters and machine sewers who work at home. If you can help
us with this please call Louise Goddard at (863) 635-3381 or Gloria Smith at (863) 635-7282.
The WMU meets in the Fellowship Hall on the second Tuesday of each month from 9:00 to11:00 a.m. On
January 10th there will be a brunch and special speakers immediately following our regular meeting.
Pastor Sonny and Lillian Leonard will share about foreign mission trips. Everyone is welcome. Come and
bring a friend, neighbor, or even a husband. We could also use some tasty finger food.
We hope to see you there!
