Technical description:
Different workpieces are pneumatically loaded out of a magazine. By using optical, capacitive and inductive
sensors, material recognition is done by a sensor unit on the adapter plate between the technology stations. Then
the workpieces are stored in the Technology Station Loading and Handling according to the same materials.
The Technology Stations are mounted on a mobile underframe. The use is done via a control panel.
The technology stations are controlled by a siemens PLC.
The installation is completely wired and delivered with a PLC-program. This control program reproduces the
complete function of the installation in automatic mode. Further Technology Stations can be added by a later point
of time.
The PLC programming system is not included in the extent of supply.
It is possible to use a PLC other than Siemens. In this case, a PLC program is not delivered.

Technical description:

set in a way so that the shuttle is led to the Technology Station Testing and Handling on the outer circle (bypass). In the
Technology Station Testing and Handling the material determination is done by an optic, a capacitive and a inductive
sensor. In the station storage and handling the workpieces will be stored according to the same material.
The Transport station is mounted on a stable underframe. The shuttles are runnig by independen DC-motors with
identifications system. The sation is controlled by AS-i bus.
Further technical processes can be processed by changing the positions of the Technology Stations Transport.
Instead of using a transport system you also connect two technology stations with a Adapter plate. Furthermore, each
Technology Station can be used independently.

In the Technology Station Checking the material characteristic are defined by digital sensors (optical,capacitive and
inductive). A pneumatically working button recognizes tooth wheels with and without slide bearing. The tooth wheels is
transport by help of a electrical driven conveying system.
In the Technology Station Machining the tooth wheels without slide bearing. are pressed from a magazine into new slide

Produktion of a set of tea lights consist of a tea light box, a tea light cap, a tea light and the packing of a tea
light
A 3-axes handling system transport the workpieces to a shuttle of the Transport System. The shuttle

The produced tea light box and tea light cap are transported to a mounting place. The mounting robot removes a

As a customer you have different possibilities to combine all technology stations. Because of the greater number of
technology stations you can create tasks with a higher level of difficulty.
The technology stations are developed according to the principle, that all necessary educational objectives can be
reached in the scope of the mechatronical education.
The technology stations are constructed in a way, that they can be combined without changing of the adapter plate, the
rotary indexing table and the conveyor. The connection to the adapter plate, the rotary indexing table or the conveyor
system is realized by snapinputs systems. A specific tool is not necessary.
If you use the adapter plate as connecting element between the technology stations, you can combine two of the
technology stations.
If the rotary indexing table is used as material transport station between technology stations, the turning direction can be
contolled in two directions.
When using the conveyor system the material transport is done via a electrical shuttle that drives independently, which is
identified via codeing. The shuttles are exactly positioned at the material transfer positions 0.5 mm distanced to the
technology stations. In this way a safe material transfer can be realized.
The technology stations are mounted to a mobile underframe. The use is realized by a control panel.
The conveying system and technology stations are controlled each via a SIMATIC-S7-300. The communication between
the PLCs is realized via profibus.
The plant is delivered completely wired. Functionable control programs for the Siemens PLC are delivered for every
technology station. These control programs demonstrate the function of every technology station.
The PLC programming system is not part of the extent of supply.
The integration of another PLC than Siemens is possible. In this case a PLC program is not delivered.
A powerful software can be delivered to the mechatronic hardware. The software shows all technology station in an
identically way. Furthermore, the user is able to use a library that is also delivered to create new stations and to develop
further tasks of higher level in order to get deeper knowledge with regard to training.

Function:
The automatic warehouse consists of a 3-axis handling unit which
uses workpiece plates of 120mm x 90mm.
DC Motors drive the axis. The positions are controlled by a fork
light sensor. The end positions of the axis are secured with micro
switches.
The warehouse has 5 levels each consisting of 8 deposits.
On the work piece plate any work pieces can be fixed. The
number of work pieces per plate is only limited by
the maximum permitted total weight of 1 kg and the
maximum admission space of 90 mm x 80 mm. The height of
work piece should not surpass 40 mm.
The work piece plate are delivered with a coding pen and
2 boring holes for the differenciation between raw and machined
parts, admission bores for fixing the work piece plate as well as
openings for the gripper system.
The loaded work piece plates can be directly deposited on the
