iPQ-Workflow installation
2. System requirements
2.1 Data Server
Data flow within iPQ-Workflow is carried out via reel protocols in XML format. A central Data
Server is installed to enable every iPQ-Workflow participant to access the data (iPQ-View / Check,
Quality Assurance, Report Generator and Rewinder Control). This server is linked to the stations
via LAN. TCP is used as the communication protocol.
Windows XP / 7 32bit or 64bit, Windows Server 2008
Hard disk space needed depends on the amount of the protocols data
(250 GB recommended)
2 GB RAM
1 USB 2.0 port for dongle
1 Ethernet port 10/100 Mbit/s
NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile
Fixed IP address in the iPQ-Workflow network, corresponding subnet mask
Firewall: Enable incoming connections to ports 35876 and 35877 TCP / UDP for
DataDistributor.exe and OrigReelManager.exe
Firewall: The target addresses for the rules can be limited to the addresses of iPQ-View /
Check, Quality Assurance, Report Generator and Rewinder Control
2.2 Quality Assurance and Report Generator
The pc for the Quality Assurance must meet the following requirements:
Windows XP / 7 32bit or 64bit
100 MB free hard disk space
2 GB RAM
1 Ethernet port 10/100 MBit/s for Data Server communication
NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile
Minimal display resolution 1280 x 1024 Pixel
Configure firewall settings
2.3 Rewinder Control
PC Beckhoff CP6920
Monitor ELO touch ET1928L (1280 x 1024 Pixel)
OS Windows XP embedded 32bit
Format sensor SICK KT3W-P1115
Incremental encoder SICK DFS-60B
Beckhoff IO components
EtherCAT coupler EK1100
Incremental encoder interface EL5101
Digital input terminal EL1004
Digital output terminal EL2004

3. Prepare barcode scanner installation
Step 1. Select the Rewinder Control pc
If the IPC image 1.1 is installed on the Rewinder Control pc, you have to uninstall the touch driver
MT 7.13. If the driver is still present when using the barcode reader, a connection to the reader is
not possible.
Choose the Window "Add or Remove Programs" from the windows system control to uninstall the
software "MT 7.13 Build 4 for Windows".
Confirm the remove and restart the pc.
Step 2. Plug in the barcode reader
Plug the barcode reader to a free USB port.

Step 3. Configure the barcode reader
In the factory default setting, the barcode reader is working in the default USB keyboard mode. But
the Quality Assurance / Rewinder Control needs the reader to work in USB-COM mode. Therefore
you have to scan the following barcode with the reader.
After scanning this code, the reader works in USB-COM.
