Guadalmina Golf Marbella Golf
Guadalmina offers two 18 holes golf courses, the old course designed by Javier Arana in 1959 is renowned for
its difficulty , thus making it more suitable for experienced players, Fairways are narrow and well protected by old
trees requiring more straight shots. The new course runs almost parallel to its southern “brother”. It is shorter and
hillier than the south course and has more water obstacles. The course requires straight drives down the middle
of the fairways as failure to do so may have one ending up in one of the numerous water hazards hidden in the
rough.
Marbella the 18 hole layout was designed to provide a testing but enjoyable game for golfers of different abilities.
Bunkers abound and the rough can be difficult for shots that stray. Several lakes, which enhance the scenic value
of the course particularly on the back nine, have to be successfully negotiated to preserve a reasonable score-
card. Every hole is unique in design and character.
Santa Clara Golf Rio Real Golf
Santa Clara Golf first opened in July of 2001. This golf course is located only two kilometres east of Marbella on
the Costa del Sol in Spain. Enrique Canales designed this course in ''Park-land" style and, although Santa Clara
Golf is located in an undulated area, it is relatively forgiving but a must to play on this quality course.
Rio Real designed by Javier Arana, this superb 18 hole golf course was inaugurated in 1965, being one of the
most spectacular in the area. Perfect for golfers of all levels, the course is situated in a beautiful valley with a
great variety of trees, above all, pines and palm trees. The name comes from the Real River which crosses the
course in various places before flowing into the Mediterranean.
