CONCRETE CURING COMPOUND (ANTISOL-E15) APPLICATION

PURPOSE:
This Method Statement defines the procedures and practices that will be
used for concrete curing compound (ANTISOL E15) application.
LIMITATIONS:
a) This statement should be applicable for the duration of the project
as per the current base-line schedule or any approved revisions to
the schedule.
b) Product shall only be applied with their intended use.
c) Curing Compound application can be done only after three
consecutive days of water curing on concrete structures as per .
SCOPE OF WORK:
Concrete curing works within Industrial Support Building Facilities (ISFB)
EPC-06.
REFERENCES:
a) ASTM C 309 Standard Specifications for Liquid Membrane Forming
Curing Compounds and Curing and Sealing Compounds.
b) Project Specification Division 3-Concrete, Section 03370-Curing
c) Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES)
d) ANTISOL-E15 data sheet
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Project / Site Engineer- Prepare and update MS
b) Review - QC Department and HSE
c) Construction Team - Implementation
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:
Conventional tools and/or equipment aside from sprayers will be
used as found necessary to complete the work procedure.

PREPARATIONS and APPLICATION:


a) Stir Antisol-E15 well before use
b) In any case where the curing compound is to be applied in newly
laid concrete, allow the concrete to evaporate between to 2 hours
depending on temperature, etc., before application. Application may
be done by spraying.
c) When curing compound is to be applied after the three consecutive
days of water curing, concrete surface shall be free from any
formworks where curing compound is to be applied.
d) Apply the curing compound by spraying (or using a roller paint
brush or other conventional tools to complete the work) on the
surface of hardened concrete.
e) After the application, the treated area must be protected from rain
for at least 2-3 hours.
f) Every after application, clean all tools and equipments with soap
water

STORAGE and HANDLING:


a) Antisol-E15 has to be stored in dry area between 5C and 35C
b) Protect from direct sunlight

HEALTH, SAFETY and ENVIRONMENT:


a) Health, Safety and Environment issues shall be guided by AYC
safety procedures Aramco Standard.
b) Work area to be kept clean, safe and easily accessible
c) Appropriate PPE shall be worn at all times
d) Safety talk shall be conducted to remind the workers about the risk
involved before commencing the activity
