Slope Stability - Excel Spread Sheet Example

This document presents the results of several slope stability analyses using different methods: 1) Bishop's simplified method is used to analyze a homogeneous soil slope with and without a tension crack. The factor of safety is 1.06 without a tension crack and 1.00 with a tension crack. 2) Additional analyses are conducted on slopes with multiple soil layers and a tension crack filled with water using Bishop's and Janbu's methods. The factors of safety range from 0.95 to 1.91.
