Webquest: Los Parques de Diversiones: Unidad 7: Argentina: ¡Una Semana Fenomenal!
Task:
You will research three different theme parks in Argentina. You will then choose a park and evaluate it using a number of criteria and
compare that park to a theme park in the U.S.
Before you begin your research, you will discuss your last visit to a theme park and what you did there. Using your past experiences,
create a list of the features you are looking for in the ideal theme park in Argentina. Once you have conducted your research, you will
decide which theme park best fits your interests. Then, you will write a description of an imaginary trip you took to that theme park.
You can write your description as a paragraph, as a cartoon with speech balloons, or in some other format.

Web sites and your worksheet.
El Parque de la Costa
This amusement park is located at a short distance from Buenos Aires, on the banks of the Tigre River.
Center Norte
This amusement park is located in Buenos Aires. You can reach it by city bus or subway.
Aqu asol
This water park is located close to the beach resort town of Mar del Plata, right outside of Santa Clara del Mar.
Step 2: Research
The first link is always the main link for the park. This is where you will gather most of your information. All the park links are in
Spanish, but they are not difficult to understand. For each park link, clues to help navigate the site have been provided. The other links
are in English and contain information related to the park. These are just to provide general information in English for your reference
and background information.
When you go to the park’s Web site, use the worksheet to take notes on what the park has to offer. If you find interesting visuals,
download them to share.
¡OJO! Be sure to visit the Evaluation section of this activity before you start researching. Knowing how your presentation will be
evaluated will help you focus on the information you need to include.
Step 3: Create your Presentation
Once you have finished your research, analyze which of the three parks would be the most interesting. Don’t forget to take into
account the parks’ locations too. Choose the park that is the most interesting to you. Then, describe an imaginary trip to the park,
telling what happened and what you did. This can take the form of a paragraph, a cartoon with speech balloons, or even a play or
script presented through dialogue.
When you present it, keep in mind the following features of an effective presentation:
It will inform the class about the park and what features it has to offer.
It will describe an entertaining and imaginary visit to the park.
