Conceptual & Analytical Framework

The use of a simple mechanism for the purpose of crushing used tin/aluminium cans can save
energy and time compared to using improvised tools to crush several cans manually. The proposed
project will be designed to lessen the manual work in crushing cans. The mechanism design would
contain mechanical parts and to be operated manually with less energy, efficiency is also a priority in the
consideration of the design. Cost and availability of the materials to be used in the construction of the
mechanism will determine the outcome of the design. The main objective of this proposed project is to
provide small-scale junkshops a mechanism to crush cans which is cheaper than the available in the
market.
