Fire Water Monitor:

 Fire water monitors shall be UL/FM approved type. Monitors shall be located in
accordance with SAES-B-017 at a minimum of 15m but not more than 30m from the
equipment being protected.
 A level working area of 3m radius around the monitor shall be provided for
accessibility and operability.
 Monitors shall not be located within 6m of any catch basin, drainage channel or
swale.

Hose Reel:

 Hose reels shall be provided for the coverage of equipment with a throw of 7.5m and
a hose reach of 35m.
 A minimum clear space of 4.5m shall be provided in front of every hose reel cabinet
to allow proper hose withdrawal.

Fire Extinguishers

 All fire extinguishers shall comply with requirements of SAES-U-101 and shall be UL
/ FM listed.
 Hand Type Portable Extinguishers shall be mounted in easily Accessible Locations
at Grade. Their Locations shall be marked in RED in a way that will attract attention,
and otherwise meet the requirements of NFPA 10, chapter 6.
 Extinguisher units weighing less than 18 kg shall be mounted so that the extinguisher
top is not more than 1.5 m above the floor level. Extinguisher units weighing over 18
kg shall be mounted so that extinguisher top is not more than 1.0 m above the floor
level.
 The clearance between the bottom of the hand portable fire extinguisher and the
floor shall not be less than 100 mm in all cases.
 Wheeled Type Fire Extinguishers shall be covered with the Manufacturers Cover.
