Online written test​

In written test two portions were there one was technical and other one was
aptitude.technical part had 50 questions and aptitude part had 20
questions.Time duration was 2 hours .Aptitude portion was quite easy it had
3 english comprehensions some questions were related to quantitative
aptitude some were of reasoning .The level of technical questions was good
.Some were easy but some were quite tough .Most of the questions were
from network,analog,control systems,signal system. 2-3 questions were from
communication system and 2 questions were from digital electronics .If
anyone has prepared for gate then he can score well.In my case i had
attempted 39 questions from technical and 17 from aptitude.

Personal Interviews:
Result of written test was announced after 1 month .then we had personal
interviews . Interviews were conducted through video conferencing .In panel
there were 8 people .they were experts of different subjects.first person
started from analog communications questions were as follows…………..
1.draw a circuit that uses nonlinear device like diode in analog
communication i told him envelope detector then he asked.2. what are
charging and discharging constants in that how discharging is being done .3.
what is dimension of time constant and how will you derive it .4.what is
preemphasis and deemphasis and what is use of it draw the hardware
module of it.5.how can you minimize noise in analog communication systems.
second person asked questions related to analog electronics some of the
questions were like…. 1.despite so much advancements in digital why is
analog still important to study.2.why is biasing important why do we do
this.3.what are oscillators draw circuit diagram of relaxation oscillator.4.one
numerical related to op amp was there it was quite tough i had solved it
partially.Third person had asked questions related to signal and system
.questions were like….1.what are the properties of linear systems give
mathematical expressions.2.how can you measure frequency components in
any signal without using frequency analizer.3.what is iir filter and which is the
optimised form of iir filters.4. how will you implement direct form 2 iir
filter.5.write down radix 2 fft algorithm.fourth person had asked questions
related to my project it was an exhaustive round many questions were asked
in it.fifth person had asked some questions related to control systems
.Overall pi was not that much tough but it was exhaustive .almost all the core
subjects were asked which i had studied during b.tech.there was no hr round
only one question why do you want to join drdo was asked to me in the
last.you need not answer all questions if you can answer 80 percent question
then i think you can make it.

Note:

● Be confident in all the subjects aoi does’nt matter.


● Strengthen your basics.
● Have some nice projects and prepare them thoroughly.
● Try to score high in written because finally they will select you on the
basis of merit both in written and pi.
