Do you have a written emergency response plan (ERP)?
The term correctional facility standing operatioon procedures (SOPs) use is
emergency action plan (EAP). What consititue emergency includes but are not
limited to: minor and major disturbance, barricade or hostage situatioin, escape or
attempted escape, power outage, fire, flood, bomb threat, and NBC attack. For each
there is a SOP addressing what to do in case any of these situation takes place.
Soldiers who work inside correctional facility are require to read, study and know
these SOPs. Vulnerabilit test which require soldiers to partake in, practice and
run through the procedure are conducted daily. EAP drill are conducted and
recorded quarterly throughout the year.
Is access to the critical components of the facility (i.e., a part of the physical
infrastructure of the facility that is essential for sensitive operations)
restricted to authorized personnel only?
Main entrance to correctional facility is through the access control point of which
soldiers are posted there to ensure that only authorize personnel. All authorized
personnel must have at least two copy of photo identification card and must have on
their assigned badge when within the facility. It is here that all personnel along
with their belongings are search to prevent contraband from entering the facility.
Everything that is brought inside the facility will always be inventory to ensure
that what goes in must always comes out; another way of strictly preventing
contraband.
