The Documentum platform was architected to maximize deployment flexibility and
scalability. Content files can be stored in a file system, a database, or content-addressable
storage like EMC Centera™. Metadata and the full-text index are each stored separately.

and storing repository information. Content Server governs the Documentum content
repository and provides a rich set of enterprise content services (ECS) for controlling
content and processes throughout the enterprise.
