Week 2

Warm up – Tricky
Touchdown
Instructions 1. Organise students into two groups at either
end of a grid
2. Attacks enter the square with a ball and run
around the cone then attempt to score a try
at the other end
3. Defenders attempt to read attackers play and
tag them before reaching the try line
Variations and Extensions - Make attackers only have to step over cone
instead of around it

LEST Learners – High school, male and female physical
education students
Equipment – 15 cones, 5 balls
Space – 10x10m grid
Time – 10 minutes

3v2 Keepy off
Instructions 1. Students get split into groups of 5,
nominating 2 defenders and two attackers
2. Attackers aim to make a try
3. Defenders attempt to tag attackers
Variations and Extensions - 2v1
- Longer playing field

Equipment – 15 cones, 8 balls
Space – 10x10m grid

Instructions 1. Students are split into pairs
2. One student starts with the ball and runs to
the first 5m line to perform a roll ball
3. Next student scoops the ball and runs to the
10m to perform roll ball
4. Reverse on the way back
5. Repeat
Variations and Extensions - In groups of 3
- Initiate the touch
- Add tap to first student

Variations and Extensions - Add tap if defender caught off side

5. This time offensive players aim to run past
dummy half who picks up the ball and pops it
to the runner to gain the most distance
6. Defenders attempt to tag them

- Add a second pass
