This document proposes designing a Pico Hydro Power (PHP) system in rural Bangladesh that utilizes existing irrigation pumps. It would consist of a pump installed a few meters above ground supplying water through a pipeline to a Pelton turbine connected to a permanent magnet generator. The hydro power would rotate the turbine and be converted to electrical energy to charge batteries. This provides a low-cost way to generate electricity for villages using existing irrigation infrastructure, helping address Bangladesh's electricity shortage problem especially in rural areas dependent on agriculture.

In this proposed system, a permanent magnet DC generator
