Reasons Why the Researchers Will Conduct This Feasibility Study:

1. There is a high demand for this kind of business in our society today. Personally, the researchers
like this kind of business and the main product it serves.
2. To contribute a good market share in the local business industry.
3. Since the desired location of the researchers is near the school perimeter, usually, the students
wanted a place where they can sip a coffee while hanging out with their friends. Also, people
wanted that kind of relaxation that coffee shops give. Lastly, as mentioned, there is a high
numbers of coffee lovers according to the researchers’ observation thru online and our actual
environment.
4. This kind of coffee shop is something that the teenagers even the adults will enjoy.
5. This will help promote the local band scene and the local artists of Laguna.

Background of the Study

The chosen location of our coffee shop will be along Bucal Bypass Rd, Calamba, Laguna. The
name of the baranggay was originated from BUKAL which means hot spring. It is the second tourist spot
in the city along with Pansol. This is where the famous Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba is located.
Currrently, Bucal can be considered a commercial area because there are a lot of establishments around
the barangay.

Coffeehouses or coffee shops nowadays commonly serve as centers of social interaction that
provides patrons with a place to congregate, talk, read, write, entertain one another, or pass the time,
whether individually or in small groups. There is also now a trend towards collaborative learning
amongst university students in academic spaces, including libraries.

The features of our coffee shop will not be the typical one that will just serve coffee, pastas and
pastries or the usual foods you’ll encounter with a WiFi in a type of establishment like this. This business
will also feature a mini library that the customers are allowed to use while they are in the coffee shop.
Libraries are mainly one of the places where people go to find peace and satisfaction away from the
outside world. It serves as their comfort zone that allows them to enter the other dimension. This mini
library will serve book genres like fiction, science-fiction, history, novels, poetries and prose, informative
and reference books.

The coffee shop will also have a small stage that local bands in the area are to be invited to play.
Not like the typical gig area, there won’t be alcoholic beverages because this establishment will just
serve coffee and tea beverages. Also, the gigs schedule won’t always be in night time so that the
teenagers can experience afternoon and even morning gigs sessions.

The theme of our coffee shop is graffiti art. It is a form of art usually seen on building walls,
transportation services and other private and public properties. It is an art created through the use of
aerosol spray paints and markers. The wall design of the shop will be covered by graffiti arts showcasing
the social issues in our society and countries, the activist movement arts and some urban hiphop and
retro style murals kind of interior designs. The artworks depicts messages to spread awareness about
the current situation of the blind side of the reality in our country.

The interior design will include:


(a) Furniture

- wooden chairs and tables, mini stage, bar counters, rustic Cabinets, Lightings, aircon, electric fans,
mirrors, coffee tables

(b) Designs

- vinyl records, car plate numbers, historical posters, movie posters, book posters, iconic activists and
artists/bands, centerpiece for tables, wall frames

(c) Equipment

- manual menu board, hot water boiler, drink dispenser, ice maker, cashier counter, cake display,
espresso coffee machine, bottle cooler, syrup dispenser, blender, soft drink dispenser, table fridge, milk
shaker, coffee grinder and bar table.
