What is a WebEx Meeting?
WebEx offers a comprehensive suite of Web meeting applications
designed to improve collaboration and increase your productivity.
WebEx Meeting is virtual conferencing software that allows its
users to collaborate in an online environment as opposed to face
to face. WebEx conveniently works inside your web browser with
no program to install, or configure. WebEx can be used for audio
only calls or visual meetings via webcams, and for presentations.
You can share anything that is displayed on your screen for
everyone in the meeting to view. We will be using WebEx Meeting
together, so it is important that you familiarize yourself with its
interface and features.
Attend a WebEx Meeting
Join Meeting
1. When you are invited to a WebEx meeting, you will receive
an invitation via email. Save your email invitation as it
contains important information you will need to join the
meeting.
2. On the day and time of the meeting, click the Join WebEx
meeting link in the email invitation. Or go to “webex.com” and
click “Join” to enter the meeting number directly.
3. When the WebEx window opens, click the Join button.
Follow those steps to install the WebEx add-on for your
browser.
4. You have now joined the meeting. Then you need do a
Connect to Audio for listen to the meeting on your computer,
click “Call Using Computer”
You can click the Mute icon so that other participants don’t
hear your background noise. Please always mute you self
after you finished speaking.
5. When the meeting has ended, click the Leave Meeting
button.

Use basic web camera with WebEX
(Web camera with Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) microphone was recommend)
Participants can share/view video from the presenter’s webcam
and send video from their own webcams to other participants.
Plug your webcam in USB port. Your Windows PC should either help your installed software once you
plug in the webcam. Then in WebEx please tap the camera symbol to share video from your
webcam. You can send video. Other participants can see you.
WebEx Meetings Mobile App
WebEx has free mobile applications available for these
smartphones and other devices. This allows you to host or attend
a meeting from anywhere. While this is a convenient way to use
WebEx, there are some differences between the mobile app and
on a computer. To put it simply, the mobile app is a bare bones
version.
What’s Different
- Whiteboard and Polling are not available.
File sharing is only available on the iPad.
- Only Audio and Video sharing are available
- A Chat Feature within the Participant Panel is available if you
wish to only address one person within the meeting
- When scheduling a meeting, you are not able to have it
preset to record the meeting
Getting Started with the App
1. Find the WebEx Meetings app in the iTunes App Store/
Google Play Store
2. Once downloaded, the icon will show up on your screen as
shown below:
After the introductory examples, there will
be a prompt to create an account, which
can be ignored. Then you can join
meeting by the room number.
3. Review and accept the Terms of 4. Click Join Meeting

5. Enter Room Number and Audio and Video
You Name and Email
Connecting with audio and video is
simple and easy in the app. A couple
taps is all it takes. It is best to use a
headset for optimum sound quality.
6. Connect Audio

Using Internet”
Mute/Un-mute your audio Video

To mute your audio, simply tap so
