Finding an eBook

1 Go to Discovery at https://discovery.hw.ac.uk

2 Type some words from the title and/or author of your book. (You could also include the year of
publication to quickly narrow down your results.)

Wells, C. J. (2011) Physics. New York: McGraw-Hill.

3 Click on the magnifying glass (or press enter) to search.

4 At the left of the results page, scroll down to “Resource Type” and click on “Books”. This will remove
journal articles, newspaper articles, etc. from your search results. (If books isn’t visible under resource
type, click on “Show More”.)

5 Then click on “Full Text Online” to only see eBooks.


6 Click on “full text available”.

7 You’ll be taken to a screen with more information about the book. Click on “view full text”.

8 You may be asked to log in – log in with your Heriot-Watt username and password.

9 You will now be able to open your eBook.
