General rule (regra geral) +s like → likes
With verbs ending in (verbos que + es go → goes
terminam em): o, s, x, sh, ch
With verbs ending in (verbos que +s play → plays
terminam em): vowel (vogal) + y
With verbs ending in (verbos que y →i + es study → studies
terminam em): consonant
(consoante)+ y

USE (uso)
We use this tense for (usa-se este tempo para):
● habitual actions/routines (acções habituais/rotinas); E.g.: I get up at 8 o’clock.
● programmes and timetables - school, buses… (programas e horários – escola, auto- 1
carros…); E.g.: The bus leaves at 10 o’clock.
● a permanent state (um estado permanente); E.g.: I like soup.
