1, while code use for unreinforced masonry; BS 5268 “structural use of timber” part 2.
Code of practice used for permissible stress design, materials and workmanship; BS 6399 “design loading
for buildings” part 1.
Code of practice used for dead and imposed loads (formerly cp3: chap v: part 1) where deemed necessary,
BS449 was adopted in checking member size adequacy.
