There is joy in reading. It is in this event that our mind captures, explore, achieve
what other see and believed. It is even a venue to express one’s imagination as one
goes along on his reading. As teachers, we should realize the importance of the
mastery of all reading skills, since it is not only in reading that our pupils use them but in
all subject areas as well. We should also accept the reality of individual differences so
that it is necessary that we consider these in providing for the needs of different ability
group for our pupils..

The respondents of these remedial reading instruction are the Grade VI pupils
belonging to Frustration Reading Ability from the PHIL-IRI Results.

 There should be a constant reminder for the pupils to have the observance of
DEAR – Drop Everything And Read, not only in school but also at home.
 Parent – Support is needed for their children to establish reading time at home
even at least one hour.

There is really a need to continue on a regular schedule for remedial reading

instruction. Enhancement on reading activities and having more story books at
hand could mean of great help especially to our pupils.

they communicate with others.
Pupils will be able to enhance their reading ability, increase their vocabulary
building and uses correct grammar patterns and structures on their exploration on their
day to day reading and communication.
Vocabulary building is essential for them to understand what they read. If they

spelling on words they explore. Study habit is strongly recommended and regular
