Programming & BASIS Analyst:

Essential Functions:

- Work closely with team to understand current project and support priorities and provide support
for day to day deliverables as prioritized and requested by management
- Must have the ability to understand business processes and interact with business end users to
architect solutions
- Daily System Monitoring: Execution of all System Administration Assistant activities and
troubleshoot / resolve problems reported by project teams, Solution Manager tools; -Executes
daily operational activities related to the SAP environment including; object transports,
setup/configuration, operational SAP monitoring, troubleshooting and error handling,
performance/tuning, and problem determination/resolution
- Develop, maintain, and continually improve documentation for SAP Basis Policies and
Procedures
- Assist in designing system environment and client configuration.
- Install and maintain SAP software components. - SAP Software Installation and Support:
Installation of SAP Components based on SAP WAS 6.xx & 7.xx, SAP Solution Manager 7, SAP
ECC 6.0 and SAP Enterprise Portals 7.0 GTS 7.2
- Post Installation Setup of SAP Components: Initial System Backup, Configure SAPs Transport
Management System, Request / Set-up SAP Developer Keys, Setup SAPROUTER connection to
SAP, Install support packages, Client Copy, Install OSS notes, Configure SAP Note Assistant,
SAP DBA configuration, Tuning / Modification of SAP and instance parameter files, Configuration
of the SAPLOGON entries for the newly installed system, and setup of printers
- Troubleshoot & resolve SAP BASIS problems and smoothly transition non-BASIS issues to the
appropriate department or person.
- Communicate through OSS messages, monitor status, and apply OSS notes for issue resolution.
- Perform SAP parameter maintenance, performance, and tuning adjustments.
- Administer dual stack (ABAP/Java) environment, BI, XI, ERP, Enterprise Portal and Solution
Manager 
- Maintains interfaces to 3rd party technologies such as BSI, Adobe Forms, PEAK RF, LIMS,
Hyperion

Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience as an ABAP Developer Experience in SAP
version 4.6 or higher
- Demonstrated knowledge of good programming techniques, dictionary objects, and interface
techniques
- 3+ years experience as a SAP Basis administrator or expert providing support and guidance to
SAP Basis team or large contribution to several SAP Basis projects
- 3+ years in a SAP production support environment or multiple full life cycle projects
- Strong time management skills
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to learn new technologies with minimal training or supervision
- Experience with SAP applications operating system administration (Unix and Windows)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, conceptual and performance tuning skills
- Strong customer focus and management of client expectations
- Excellent communication (written/documentation and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience and ability to effectively design, write and review technical specifications to
confirm solution meets functional requirements through an acceptable technical solution. 
- Must be able to challenge assumptions and drive better solutions (from both business process as
well as technical).

Education: 

- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field

- SAP Basis Administration certification (preferred)

- Candidates must be proficient in the following: Coding ABAP programs within and outside of
areas of responsibility with no supervision; have advanced knowledge of technologies that
integrate/interface with SAP (S/IDOC, Outlook, Portal, Web); proficient at utilizing BAPI’s, BADI’s,
function modules, and other development technologies with no supervision; in-depth functional
knowledge; able to design, improve, or questions specs as appropriate; ability to research new
techniques and technologies inside/outside of the SAP suite;ability to perform code reviews for
performance and proper techniques/standards; reviews and enhances development standards;
knowledge of how SAP programs are integrated within SAP and understands how the business
processes use the SAP system; ability to work with offshore resources.
