REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

This chapter presents the review of related literature and studies

underlying in the framework of the study. It includes the conceptual model of the

study and technology and in the content of this study.

Review of related literatures

PAYROLL SYSTEM

In the book of Musa (2009), entitled Philippine Based-Payroll System,

emphasized the major elements or variables that a Computerized Payroll System

consists. The author stated that the specific items the database of a Philippine-

Based Computerized Payroll System must have.

According to the book of Lamberte(2008), entitled Philippine Payment

System, stated that basic and essential parts of any payment –related system,

the flow of information providing payment instructions and the flow of funds. He

also emphasized that this flows requires an instrument to convey the information

about the transactions, this is where a computerized payment system(in this case

a Payroll System) comes in.

 According to the book of Trias(2010) entitled “What is a Payroll System?”,

states that the accuracy of calculations is a success of a payroll system. As

payroll system was defined as “a system programmed to calculate taxes and

deductions”, and can also be an internet-base or offsite.

According to the book “System Documentation” by James Vesper (2010),

states that computerized payroll system should have the capability to maintain

and update the employees information and perform the required outputs

including paychecks, reports to management and to the government.

Related Studies

Based on the research study entitled computerized payroll system of

Department of Health (DOH) (2007) explains that a computerized payroll system

is a window based program which is specially designed to facilitate and simplify

the monthly preparation of general payroll and related reports. Also that is must

be flexible to provide option which allows the user to hold additional fields for

he states that using a Computerized Payroll System will consume less amount of

time when compared to manual paper work. And he also state that Data Storing

will be easier. All the important data will be stored in database and will avoid any

Based on the study of Dr. Thomas of Payroll Functionality, Payroll

system involves everything that has to do with the payment of the employees and

filing the taxes of the employee, calculating salary, printing and delivering checks

etc. His study aims to release the burdens of administering the benefit plans of

the employees and so that they can focus on their business success.

According to the study of Mandigma et al. (2018) entitled McDonalds

Payroll System, A payroll system provides accurate accounting of the funds

provided or paid to employees for work or services performed. Without the

system the establishment would have difficulty in accounting for payments for

services or work performed by employees.

 Based on the study of Nnamani and Aloysius I Automated Payroll

System, states that Manual Payroll of the staffs salaries encounters a lot of

problems, which often takes the time of the workers morale. The problems

ranges from arithmetic error in computation, delay in payments. With this project

work, automated system shall be developed and which shall eliminate all the

problems associated with the manual process.

Management System, Payroll Application has been designed for the purpose of

maintaining details of various allowances and deductions that needs to be given
