Project
Declaration of LRMS as a Zone of Peace/Installation of Peace Markers
This proposed project aims to remind the community who has access in our school vicinity
to be peacemakers not only within LRMS but also in the larger society. This program was inspired
by the project made by the Center for Peace Education of Miriam College.
In line this this program, a tarpaulin stating “This School is a Zone of Peace” shall be placed
on one of the bulletin boards in front of the grade school building. Also, wooden markers are to
be placed in visible areas stating quotations/scripture reminding passers-by to be agents of
peace.
Suggested quotations:
Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God.
(Working for peace is a requirement of our faith and not an optional
commitment)
All works of love are works of peace. – Mother Theresa
Be the change that you wish to see in the world – Mahatma Gandhi
Suggested locations:
GS grotto
JHS grotto
SHS grotto
JHS driveway
GS Noah’s Arc
They remind us of two ultimate truths, first, that the bottom line of justice and
peace is love, and second, that the task of building peace always begins with each one of
us. Acting for peace begins with being peace.
The markers will be done by students from high school Art Club as one of their
projects during their club time.
Zero Waste Project
For this school year, we aim to focus on social action of the young generation made to
contribute to peace-keeping & address climate change concerns. As part of our program,
students and even employees will be asked to bring recyclable materials to be donated to
Papemelroti ©
List of accepted materials:
old keyboards
old eyeglass lenses
scrabble tiles
dominoes
wine bottles
clean plastic bags
hardbound books
playing cards
The donations will be placed in the classroom first. The secretary of each class shall note
down the number of donations brought by the class daily. In the afternoon of September 27
(Friday), the list will be given to the life coaches to determine the class who has the greatest
number of donations. The section with the greatest number of donations will be acknowledged
& will be given a certificate.
All donations will be dropped off to their nearest branch (Ayala Malls - Feliz).
Ruizian Peace Ambassador
Every year, Peace Ambassadors are chosen to acknowledge students who exhibit peace-
making initiatives as observed whether inside or outside the school premises.
To give focus on the theme of CBCP (“Filipino Youth in Mission: Beloved. Gifted.
Empowered,” chosen grade level ambassadors will be given a special token which serves as a
donation to cancer patients supported by the LoveFaithHope Group. Their company is dedicated
to help cancer patients with their fight. As part of the youth, students are encouraged to
empower people who are in need & share the gifts they receive from God.
Chosen Ruizian Peace Ambassadors are to be involved in any peace-making advocacy
from the time they are awarded up to the end of the school year as part of their role as peace
ambassador. They may involve their family, friends or other school community members. Their
peace initiatives will be acknowledged towards the end of the school year.
A Piece for Peace
Initially, the plan was to give LifeSaver watches as token to chosen Ruizian Peace
Ambassadors. With greater intentions of helping the beneficiaries of the LoveHopeFaith Group,
we are encouraging other members of our school community to take part in this noble act. A
letter will be distributed to parents and all the offices of our school to ask who’s interested to
avail of the watch. It is reiterated that the primary objective of this project is to cultivate the
value of sharing the blessings that we receive to those in need.
LifeSaver watch costs P300. With every purchase of the product, 50% of the net proceeds will be
given to cancer patients. For more information, you may visit their website
www.lovehopefaithgroup.com.
