Experience in microfinance/rural finance development: Rose is a microfinance/rural finance
specialist with more than 14 years of hands-on experience in managing microfinance operations and
10 years of consulting in microfinance and rural finance programs’ design, implementation,
operations systems design and training smallholder farmers, SMEs and staff/managers/board
members of rural focused financial service providers in Kenya and other African Countries.
Experience in Agriculture Value Chain Development: She been lead consultant in the design and
management of various USAID funded horticulture based value chain development Projects in
Kenya and Tanzania, including an Avocado Project by Kenya BDS (2003-2005); horticultural tree
and vegetable value chains commercialization projects by USAID Kenya Horticultural Development
Program (KHDP) (2005-2008); horticulture tree, vegetables and spices value chain promotion
projects by USAID-Kenya Horticulture Competitiveness Project (2011-2013) and USAID TAPP
Horticultural Program in Tanzania (2010-2012). Each of these projects promoted smallholder
farmers and agribusiness based SMEs. The participating smallholder farmers in each project were

Experience financial literacy training for smallholder farmers: Rose successfully directed the
design and implementation of two financial literacy projects for Farm Africa/European Union (2015)
and IFAD/AGRA/AFRACA/KMP (2013-2015) that jointly trained over 4,500 smallholder farmers
within 6 Counties and linked over 90% of them to access financial services.
Experience in Financial Products Development, Pilot Testing, Evaluation & Training: Rose has
practical experience in undertaking qualitative market research to identify rural finance/MFIs’ clients
needs to inform the development of new products or reengineer existing ones in different sectors:
business, agriculture among others. She has been involved in design, pilot testing, monitoring and
evaluating financial products modeled towards rural finance. She trains MFI Boards, managers and
operations staff on design and implementation of micro and rural finance. She is a faculty with
School of Africa Microfinance an African Wide School and trains on Delinquency Management.

Oversee the leadership and management of the Africa Regional Chapter of INAFI
Global Network of over 48 micro finance institutions spread over 24 countries
within the continent. This position involved the mobilization of financial resources;
capacity building of member organizations; lobbying and advocacy among regional
and national Governments; organization of regional conferences and day-to-day
management of the Secretariat based in Nairobi, Kenya.
