Transistor CB Mode Study Guide

This document outlines an experiment to study the input and output characteristics of an NPN transistor in common base configuration. The circuit diagram and procedure are provided to collect readings for input characteristics by varying the base-emitter voltage at different constant collector voltages and for output characteristics by varying the collector-base voltage at different constant emitter currents. Graphs will then be drawn and questions will be asked regarding transistor parameters, regions of operation, configurations, and effects.

mode and determine transistor parameters.

Apparatus: Transistor (BC107 or SL100),

Regulated power supply (0-30V, 1A),

Voltmeter (0-20V),

Ammeters (0-100mA)

Resistors, 100Ω, 100KΩ

Bread board and connecting wires

PROCEDURE:
INPUT CHARACTERISTICS:

1. Connections are made as per the circuit diagram.

2. For plotting the input characteristics, the output voltage V is kept constant at 0V and for
