OCM Private Limited (formerly known as OCM India Limited) began its journey
as a manufacturer in the textile field in 1924 and forayed into worsted fabrics
in 1972.
The Company has its manufacturing facility in Amritsar, Punjab, India and it is
the first integrated worsted unit in India and has been awarded the prestigious
ISO 9001 certification.
The Company has a sprawling 37 acre complex that houses a new-age plant
with an annual capacity of 8 million meters of fabric and an employee base of
1,500.
The Company’s ownership lies with a global private equity fund management
company WL Ross & Co. LLC, based in New York, U.S.A., and HDFC Ltd,
India.
OCM has its Corporate Office in District Centre, Jasola, Delhi, India.
OCM, one of India’s largest fabric manufacturers, has moved onto a new
charter of transformations across manufacturing, product development and in
revitalising
the well reputed OCM brand, in the Indian market to strengthen its business in
India, and the overseas markets.
The product design function is at the forefront of global styling with design
offices in Torino, Italy and one in the plant complex.
Today, the Company has an extensive product range of high quality all -wool
and wool-blended worsted fabrics to ready-to-wear garments for men and

The in-house Quality Assurance Laboratory has successfully obtained
accreditation from NABL – National Accreditation Body of Testing and

Laboratories for fabric tests in accordance with international standard ISO
17025 : 2005.

manufacturer in the country to have received the NABL accreditation.

PRODUCTS AND PRODUCTION
Since its inception in 1924 as a manufacturer of hand-knotted carpets, OCM has come
a long way to become one of the largest worsted suiting producer, the first one to
implement a customized textile ERP solution.
A completely vertically integrated plant, OCM has in-house production facilities to
convert tops to finished fabrics through dyeing, spinning, weaving and finishing using
state-of-the-art machinery. All the materials and processes pass through stringent
checks at every stage and help in delivering outstanding qual ity.
At present the company?s capacity includes 34064 Spindles and 182 high speed shuttle
less Looms thereby giving spinning capacity of 12000 kgs yarn and weaving capacity of
25000 Mtrs of fabric per day. The spinning preparatory is from NSC, France, Spi ndles
frpm Zinser, Germany, Autoconers from Schlhafhorst, Germany, TFO?s from Leewha,
Korea and looms from Lindaeur Dornier, Germany, Sulzer, Switzerland and Picanol,
Belgium. Apart from this, colour continuity is tested on colour matching system from
Gretag Macbreath, UK and fabric gets final finish on KD from Biella Shrunk, Rotary
Press of Mario Crosta,Italy, Continuous Decatising from Speretto Rimar, Italy,
Superfinish from M-Tec, Germany and Shearing machine from Xetma Vollenweider,
Switzerland.

Corporate Social Responsibilities
In partnership with the Foundation for Excellence India Trust, OCM is sponsoring the
education of the academically gifted and financially deserving Engineering (BE)/
Technology (B Tech) students from in and around the state of Punjab through a
grant.
This funding from OCM will be utilized to provide Scholarships to students –
educational and infrastructural - to cover the cost of their college fees, hostel and
mess expenditure, books and transportation expenses of the beneficiaries.
With effect from March 2014-17, OCM will play an active role to:
Monitor progress of scholars and serve as mentors to students.
Design and implement training modules, conduct technical and soft skill training
programs.
Facilitate internships, summer projects and course projects.
On completion of their respective programs satisfactorily, OCM may consider these
students for employment in the Company, if a suitable opportunity arises and based
on mutual interest and eligibility criteria.
