Tonight, this task of introducing our guest of honor and speaker is a great privilege.
I
know this one is difficult but the thought that she is a woman of virtue and simplicity, I
feel elated to introduce her to everyone tonight. After all, she is a living inspiration to
the young once – O-N-C-E and the young ones – O-N-E-S, I mean our parents and our
school children.
If one takes a closer look at the alchemy of the achieving person, two distinct virtues
pop up, besides perseverance and hard work. These are: pioneering spirit and
willingness. Our guest of honor and speaker today is the living idiom of a woman who
happened to be born at the right time and at the right place.
Our guest of honor and speaker was born on January 29, 1965. Daughter of Mr. Avelino
Aquilo Catolico and Mrs. Aurora Rodriguez Catolico. Married to our former City Mayor
Josemarie “Jay” L. Diaz and a mother of four endearing sons namely Jay Eveson, Evyn
Jay, Jose Avelino and Jomarie Angelo.
She studied her elementary level at St. Mary’s College in Quezon City same through
with her Secondary level, in her tertiary she took up Bachelor of Science in Physical
Therapy at University of Santo Tomas in Espania, Manila.
As a professional, he got involved with different medical institutions not just here in the
Philippines but also outside the country such as in Nassau County Medical Center in
Long Island, New York, in Franklin General Medical Center in Valley Stream, New York
and Kissimmee Medical Center in Florida, USA as a Physical Therapist from the year
1986 to 1993. She finally decided to come back in the Philippines for good and put up
her own family clinic, the Diaz Physical Therapy Clinic by the year 1994 to 2007
practicing the same profession. In the year 2010 to 2012 she was a Private Secretary at
the Local Government Unit of the City of Ilagan, Isabel and was elected as a City
Councilor by the year of 2013 to 2016. And became the newly – elected city mayor of
the city of ilagan by the year 2016 up to present.
To date, he continues to be an active member of prestigious organizations such as
Philippine Nurses Association, Philippines Physical Therapy Association, Advisory Council
Member, IPPO, PNP, Ilagan Association of Women – Isabela Green Ladies Organization,
Ilagan Association of Women, Ilagan City Council for Women Development Affairs and
Marriage Encounter (ME – 18).
Her passion and energy seem to know no bounds. She has proven to be committed to
both public service and the medical world. And being used to be performing various
tasks and responsibilities simultaneously, it is no doubt this woman will become one of
the famous leaders of our city.
It is my great honor and privilege to introduce to you a woman of stature, a woman of
dedicated service and a woman of compassion to the people of City of Ilagan, our
beloved, the mayor of the city of ilagan, Hon. Evelyn “Mudz” Catolico Diaz, a round of
