1) Ethane is burned with 50% excess air and 90% of the ethane is converted. 25% of the converted ethane forms CO and the rest forms CO2. 2) Calculations are shown to determine the molar composition of the stack gas on a dry basis and the mole ratio of water to dry stack gas. 3) The results show that on a dry basis the stack gas contains 5.6% CO2, 1.9% CO, 0.4% ethane, 9.7% O2 and 82.4% N2. The mole ratio of water to dry stack gas is 0.1126.
