Abstract
Pipelines are recognized as the most efficient and
safest way of transporting fluids . But in practice
pipelines encounter various serious defects. So in
order to ensure the safety of pipelines robots are used
for inspection purpose. This project employs visual
inspection methods for inspecting various pipelines
for defects like holes, metal loss, dents, corrosion,
weld defects.
Objective :
To design and fabricate both efficient and
economical pipe inspection robot which can be used for
real time purpose
Advantages:
• It can be used to inspect pipes and ducts over a range of
diameter.
• No destruction of the inspection material.
• Both vertical and horizontal ,GI and PVC pipes can be
inspected.
Limitations:
• Pipe are inspected only after decommission of the fluid
passing through it.
