What does PXE mean?
The Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) is an industry standard client/server interface that
allows networked computers that are not yet loaded with an operating system to be configured
and booted remotely by an administrator.
How does PXE boot work?
PXE Boot Process. When the client initiates a PXE boot (by traditionally pressing F12) however
the process is changed slightly: The client sends out a DHCPbroadcast and states that it needs
to PXE boot. The DHCP server picks up this broadcast and replies with a suggested IP address
to use.Feb 16, 2017
