Ofc 04

The document is a memorandum from the Ministry of Railways in India regarding the laying of quad cable and optical fiber cable (OFC) on rail lines. It states that railways currently use either a 6 quad cable without OFC or a 4 quad cable with OFC. It has been decided that going forward, all new lines will use a 6 quad cable that includes an OFC to support new signaling systems that require increased communication capabilities, such as block proving by axle counters and train warning systems. The memorandum provides examples of how the 6 cables would be allocated between different uses depending on whether an OFC is included or not. Railways are instructed to plan all new works accordingly.
