Communication Methods

Communication objectives include setting agreements on goals, coordinating people, discovering and solving problems, and managing expectations. There are four main methods of communication: verbal, non-verbal, written, and visual. Verbal communication involves exchanging information using words face-to-face or by phone and allows for quick feedback. Non-verbal communication conveys information through gestures, body language, and facial expressions, which account for over 50% of communication. Written communication shares information in written form like emails, documents and books, while visual communication uses images, charts and graphs. Some common communication blockers are making false assumptions, withholding information, ignoring cultural differences, relying too heavily on emails, and physical barriers between parties.

written communication when we apply for any job or while send an email to someone.

There are four different methods of communication involve verbal, non-verbal, written and
visual.

Verbal communications:
Exchange of information by using words verbally through face to face or telephonically.it is the
best way to communicate it gives way to get feedback quickly after reciver recive the meesage. It
is one of the common method while in presentation ,video conferences, face to face ,in a meeting
or on phone call etc.

Few steps to improve your verbal communication skills:

•strong confident voice

• use active listening

Non verval communication:

Sending information without using words for examples gestures ,body language, facial
expressions etc.body language with facial expressions are play major role almost 55%of all
communications take place .

Non verbal communication helps you to understand the other persons feelings and emotions
.when someone display tha close body language suck as closed arms or legs they might be
confuse, angry or nervous .and when someone display open body language like both feets on the
floor and arms on the table then they feel positive and open to information.it canbe intensionally
or unintentionally for example a persong smile unintentionally when listen pleasing and
enjoyable thought or information.
Written communication:
Sharing the information in written form suck as plans, memos, documents, letters and books
.Email andchats are the common methods of writing communication it is easily understandable

more important for someone to share information and ideas.

Communication blockers:
A communication blocker is something that create difference between peoples and can stop
effective communication.

If someone is not communicate well and not explain what he think and what he want then you
are not be successful in your work therefore,it is important to get to know what the
communication blockers are ,so you can avoid them if you intensionally or unintentionally
practice them .

Some communication blockers are commonly found in working environment that listed
below:

•Making false assumptions about the audience:

For example you think that audience have know something and you dont need to give the
introduction of that topic and discuss only some important issues,as a result audience did not
understand the message properly and not know what further problems arises in the project.

•withholding information:
Sometimes team members don't communicate to manager about the arisen risk and problems and
they wait until its too late to do anything about that problem.so manager have to reduce that
communication barrier and manager have to encourage the employees and team members to
communicate without hesitation so the arisen problem solve as soon as possible.

•Ignoring cultural differences:

Ignoring cultural gap causing more issues related to communication.different conpanies have
different cultures have different polocies procedure about work Hours, quality ,finanace etc.you
can't assume that every organisation have similar structure and have same culture so you have to
take time to understand their culture and explain how my organisation works.

•Managemnet by emails:
There is sometime when you manage your work by emails but all the work of the project is not
managed through emails and you dont send all crucial information through emails.sometimes
you have to notice the feebback of the receiver about your message.

•Physical barrier:
It is the distance between sender and receiver.if the geographical distance then you have to use
more resoures and technology to communicate and more communication channels will be used
and vice versa.
