Dear Sir(s),

As you are aware, the National Safety Day (NSD) Campaign spearheaded by the National Safety

Council for commemorating its foundation day - 4 March, is entering its 49 year. The Campaign
celebrated over a week, has grown into a major national Occupational, Safety & Health (OSH)
Campaign and is widely celebrated by industry, trade unions, Govt. departments, regulatory agencies,
NGOs and institutions with the active support of the Central & State Governments and the media.
The Campaign is aimed at renewing the commitment of employees and general public to work
safely throughout the year. The ultimate objective of the Campaign is to ensure integration of OSH
in work culture and life style.

As in the past, we are bringing out a number of specially designed promotional literature and utility

articles carrying topical messages on OSH to help you in effectively organising the 49 National
Safety Day/Week celebrations. These utility articles are broad-based and useful to industrial
employees. Special attention has been paid to the quality of material and messages to be conveyed so
as to help the managements in achieving greater participation and involvement of employees in OSH
activities through distribution of these items to them.

We are enclosing the Order Form and Photo Catalogue of utility articles for your information and use.
The terms and conditions for procurement of the materials from the Council are given along with the
Order Form.

We request you to place your firm order immediately by returning the Order Form duly filled-in along
with full advance payment. Please retain the copy of the Order Form for your records. You may also log
on to our web site www.nsc.org.in and fill the ‘ON LINE ORDER FORM’ and make the payment. A

GUIDELINES FOR OBSERVANCE

BACKGROUND :
The idea of commemorating the Foundation Day of the Council, 4th March; and the first National
Safety Day (NSD) Campaign was launched in 1972 and has since been organised every year. The
Campaign now entering its 49th year, has grown into a major national campaign widely
celebrated by industry, trade unions, govt. departments, regulatory agencies, NGOs and
institutions with the active support of the Central and State Governments and media. It has made
impact on the industrial scenario at the national level by contributing to increased safety
awareness and reduction in accidents. Started for a single day on 4th March as NSD, the
Campaign has now been spread over a week from 4-10 March.
OBJECTIVES :
• Ensure that safety and health are integrated in work culture and life style.
• Renew the commitment of the employees towards safety and health at workplace.
• Achieve greater participation of the employees in OSH activities.
APPROACH :
• Achieve the greatest participation of the employees.
• Tap local talents in your factory for the celebration.
• Stress on the OSH needs of your unit.
• Identify and highlight local OSH issues.
• Distribute OSH promotional material amongst the employees.
ACTIVITIES :
In order to make the celebration a success, the preparations are required to be started quite in
advance. Some of the suggested activities during the NSD/W are :

At Workplace
• Administration of Safety & Health Pledge by the employees led by the topmost executive. The
model text of the Safety & Health Pledge designed, developed and distributed by the NSC is
printed on the back side.
• Unfurling of the NSD Flag.
• Pinning of the NSD Badge on employees.
• Displaying Safety Day Banners at strategic locations in the units.
• Safety message by Managing Director or Chief Executive Officer to all employees.
• Safety competitions – Essay, Slogans, Posters, Housekeeping, Safety performance etc.
• Safety suggestion schemes.
• Safety exhibitions.
• One-act play/drama, songs, quawalis etc.
• Training Programmes/Workshops/Seminars etc.
• Screening of Safety films in unit/employee colonies.
• Practical demonstrations on use of PPEs, Fire Fighting, rescue etc.
• Organising emergency drills.
• Displaying of Safety Posters at prominent locations in the unit.
• Holding award functions Safety suggestions, performance etc.
• Lecture sessions by eminent guest speakers in the field.
• Community Awareness Programmes.
• Printing safety slogans on company stationary, say, pay slip.
• Holding meetings to analyse past accidents and suggested actions.
• Safety slogan on dial tone of telephone and intercom.
• Safety Procession within the unit.
• Art competitions by families of employees such as Rangoli Competition.

Outside Workplace :
• Pinning Safety Badges on VIPs.
• Advertisement of Safety on local T.V. channel and local newspapers.
• Writing articles on importance of safety in local newspapers.
• Display of banners at strategic locations in the city/town.
• Workshop/Seminars.
• Contractor Safety Programmes
• Consumer/Customer product safety awareness programmes.

 Terms and Conditions

1. GENERAL :
a) The order once placed cannot be cancelled.

b) The despatch of material will start in 3 week of January 2020 and the orders will be executed on `first-come-first-
served’ basis.
c) Any complaint regarding non-receipt/short supply of the materials should be made within a month from the date of
dispatch of materials. Also complaint of receipt of damaged material should be informed immediately along with
photo copies of the damaged material & a copy of Invoice/Delivery Challan received along with material. Complaints
received thereafter will not be entertained.
d) The colours of the utility gift articles may vary from the Photo Catalogue depending on the availability of raw
materials.

2. PAYMENT, DISCOUNT & TAXES :

i) Payment :
a) The order must be accompanied with full advance payment accompanied with applicable GST by Demand Draft or
At Par Cheque drawn in favour of “National Safety Council” payable at Mumbai. Payment will also be accepted by
EFT or RTGS, in such case details of the payment made must be submitted along with the Order Form or to be
sent to NSC by email ([email protected]). Orders will not be executed unless full payment is received. Our Bank

b) The last date for receipt of orders with full advance payment is 10th January 2020. The orders received thereafter
may be executed subject to availability of promotional material.
c) In case of receipt of less/excess payment, the quantity of the material ordered will be adjusted accordingly.

ii) Discount :
a) A Special Discount of 9% will be given on orders whose Cost of material exceeds Rs.40,000/- (i.e. Total of
Column No.11 of the Order Form) and order received with full advance payment before 1.1.2019. Kindly note
that no discount will be admissible if the cost of material is less than Rs.40,000/- or full advance payment is not
made along with the order or order is received after 1.1.2020.
b) A Collection Discount of 5% will be applicable on 'Cost of the Materials' (i.e. Total of Column No.11 of the
Order Form) only if the material is collected from the Council's Office. In case you are collecting the
materials please mention 'Yes' or 'No' in column provided in the Order Form. Also on receipt of our intimation,
arrange to collect the material from Council's office.

iii) Taxes :
a) If the Octroi is applicable in your area it will be borne by you.
b) GST will be applicable as per the GST rates mentioned in the ‘Catalogue of Material’ and ‘Order Form’.
c) If the organisation is locating under SEZ area and exempted from GST then provide the SEZ certificate along with
the order. If the SEZ certificate not provided along with the order GST will be applicable and will be paid by you.
d) If TDS is deducted, the TDS certificate should be sent within a period of one month from the end of the month
during which the credit has been given or the payment has been made. Council’s PAN No.AAA TN 3069 N.

3. MODE OF DESPATCH & POSTAGE :

a) All rates are inclusive of packing and forwarding charges.
b) The material will be sent by surface mode through our official courier i.e. Blue Dart, TCI XPS, Gati and Professional
Couriers and if their services are not available in your region it will be sent by Registered Post.
c) Bulk or voluminous orders will be despatched through road transport.

4. PRINTING OF COMPANY’S NAME & LOGO :

a) Company’s name & logo will be screen printed or PVC Sticker will be pasted free of cost in one colour on the
following ‘selected items’ only, if the order is for the minimum quantity respected to each item as given below.
