Letter of Recommendation
I am immensely pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Dr. Avinash R. Suryavanshi who is
applying for a position in your public health programme. He has been a bonafide student of
Padmashree Dr. D.Y.Patil Medical College from 20XX to 20XX to secure his M.B.B.S. degree.
This medical college admits 100 students per year and the Medical Council of India and the
University of Mumbai has recognized it. Avinash has gone through the medical course of University
of Mumbai at this medical college, which is of 5 ½ year’s duration including 1 year of compulsory
rotating internship. He has passed the M.B.B.S. examination patterns prescribed by University.
He has been exceptionally hardworking, studious, and enthusiastic throughout his medical career in
this institution. I have known Avinash since his student days, when I taught him the subject of [PSM]
Preventive and Social medicine (including public health) as the Head of dept. of PSM at that time.
Avinash was a very sincere student, very methodical in his work and with good communication skills.
He has good interpersonal relationships with his peers and teachers. As a PSM student he attended all
my classes regularly and was a brilliant student among the top 5 % in his class.
Avinash also recently presented an exhibition and a seminar at Nanavati Hospital campus on
WORLD ANAESTHESIA DAY (16TH OCTOBER 2002) with his colleagues. The topic being ‘
removal of fear from a lay man’s mind about anaesthesia’. I appreciate his superb effort on that front.
His dedication for serving humanity is thus worth a mention. Avinash has been an all-round sports
person and athlete. He has been a constant member of the D.Y.Patil Medical College cricket team and
a winner of the intermedical cricket tournament in college festival ‘AURA 99’.
He also served as a sports co-secretary for the year 20XX when I was the sport President, for the
festival. He is thus a good team player and very much self-motivated. scholarship or financial aid to
him, which will help him perform well as he has so far in his medical career.
Sincerely,
Dr. Raghuraj Rao (Head of the Department)
