Internship Report

Acknowledgement

I, Amit Gupta feel immensely grateful for my lecturers for letting me do my internship in
this field. I am also thankful for my guide in company who gave me a deep knowledge on
what exactly is Artificial Intelligence and its scope.
I feel blessed for the efforts he has put in this one-month long internship. He taught us
how to make algorithms for various parameters. He also taught python basics. I was
allowed to work on real life projects. I made a 3D model of the prototype. I also thank
Mr. Kamlesh (an employee) who helped me in my work and better understanding.

Introduction

Artificial intelligence is sometimes also called as machine intelligence. It is intelligence

demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans.
The term "Artificial Intelligence" is often used to describe machines (or computers) that
mimic "cognitive" functions that humans associate with the human mind, such as
"learning" and "problem solving".

Artificial intelligence was founded as an academic discipline in 1955, and in the years
since has experienced several waves of optimism, followed by disappointment and the
loss of funding (known as an "AI winter"), followed by new approaches, success and
renewed funding. For most of its history, AI research has been divided into subfields that
often fail to communicate with each other. These sub-fields are based on technical
considerations, such as particular goals (e.g. "robotics" or "machine learning"), the use of
particular tools ("logic" or artificial neural networks), or deep philosophical
differences. Subfields have also been based on social factors (particular institutions or the
work of particular researchers).

The traditional problems (or goals) of AI research include reasoning, knowledge

representation, planning, learning, natural language processing, perception and the ability
to move and manipulate objects. General intelligence is among the field's long-term
goals. Approaches include statistical methods, computational intelligence, and traditional
symbolic AI. Many tools are used in AI, including versions of search and mathematical
optimization, artificial neural networks, and methods based on statistics, probability and
economics. The AI field draws upon computer science, information
engineering, mathematics, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, and many other fields.

The field was founded on the assumption that human intelligence "can be so precisely
described that a machine can be made to simulate it". This raises philosophical arguments
about the nature of the mind and the ethics of creating artificial beings endowed with
human-like intelligence. These issues have been explored
by myth, fiction and philosophy since antiquity. Some people also consider AI to be a
danger to humanity if it progresses unabated. Others believe that AI, unlike previous
technological revolutions, will create a risk of mass unemployment.

Machine learning

Machine Learning is the scientific study of algorithms and statistical

models that computer systems use to perform a specific task without using explicit
instructions, relying on patterns and inference instead. It is seen as a subset of artificial
intelligence. Machine learning algorithms build a mathematical model based on sample
data, known as "training data", in order to make predictions or decisions without being
explicitly programmed to perform the task. Machine learning algorithms are used in a
wide variety of applications, such as email filtering and computer vision, where it is
difficult or infeasible to develop a conventional algorithm for effectively performing the
task.

Machine learning is closely related to computational statistics, which focuses on making

predictions using computers. The study of mathematical optimization delivers methods,
theory and application domains to the field of machine learning. Data mining is a field of
study within machine learning, and focuses on exploratory data
analysis through unsupervised learning. In its application across business problems,
machine learning is also referred to as predictive analytics.

Internship Report

Shiksha AI & Robotics is a startup company. It started five years back “A small company
with a bigger vision” as the founding chairman Mr. Krishna Garg says.

Krishna sir was primarily a researcher in Artificial Intelligence. He is being called in

IIT’s and NIT’s all over India. That’s where he felt to start this company for the
betterment of our future. The founder has successfully made it to around 120 employees
with six different teams in the coding and software domain.
Teams are formed for every subject and every teams us being headed by a team leader. A
new project assigned, will make a new team with its project leader. Two members from
each team are selected and added to the project team. Thereby a separate group is formed
for a project and parallelly research also goes on. The company is making successful
steps in every year.

Mission:

To effectively and productively utilize one’s knowledge for the betterment of our future.

Vision:

The main vision of the company states, “Always Believe that the best is yet to come”.

Policy:

Shiksha AI & Robotics provides a platform for building and developing machines
learning models. The software helps companies solve challenges by finding the best
predictive models for their data.

Weekly overview of internship activities

Week 1:

I was given the brief introduction to the company and the products manufactured by the
company.
Introduction to Machine Learning and its scope was given by the founder Mr.Krishna
Garg sir.
The leader manager took extensive care of me as I was not knowing anything about it.
I also learnt the overall functioning of the company.
The first week was into introduction and overall working.
I was assigned to learn the basic of python.
In this week, I was also told to get a recap of design software.
During this week, I underwent the HP training classes in the premises itself, where basics
of machine learning were taught and introduction to the Jupyter Notebook.
Internship Report

Week 2

I was introduced to the design team. I made a 3D model of the prototype successfully
after few failures.
It was a process of self learning which is the main moto as said by my mentor.
I also learnt on building models and algorithms using python and R language.
Internship Report

Week 3

This week was indeed a challenging one.

The first half of this week I was been taught on simply building algorithms and regression
curves.

I also learnt on gathering the data sets and categorizing them and thereby utilize them
effectively.

The next half week, I was put into a project team where I was assigned the designing part.

I was also assigned to implement the codes which were taught in the project which was
real world and real time.

The weekends were invested in the HP learning classes

In which I learnt various types of clustering and cloning, Regression lines,,

Reinforcement leaning, Supervised and Unsupervised learning applications.
Internship Report

Week 4

This week I build a predictive model the predicts the “loss/win” of a match.
I also modelled an algorithm to check the sales of a company.
I made my own “Chatbot”.
In which I learnt the various types of conversation and to teach the machines to recognize
the type of conversation (Formal or Informal).
I also had hands on experience on face recognition. How the machine (Camera) sense the
image and identify
The project of solenoid door lock was also completed by my side.
At the end I gave my HP exam, it was an online test with supervision.
