REFLECTIVE 1: PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF LEARNING PROGRAMS
1. Do your lesson plans contain all essential elements? What are these elements?
What do you do to consider the learner’s needs and capacity, available
resources and your teaching skills?
Lesson plans serves as guide for teachers in their daily class
activities/ lessons. My lesson plans contained all the vital elements such
as the learning objectives, the subject matter, and the learning activities
which is needed in the learning process. This contains learning objectives
that is very essential in teaching, because every lesson should have a
learning outcome that a student must obtain and met at the end of every
lesson. Moreover, each learner has their own capacity, interest and
needs in line with this, as a teacher I need to construct and provide
activities that would catch their attention and that could provide all the
necessary information that they need to know. Furthermore, I make sure
that my learning objectives are relevant to the subject matter.
2. How do you ensure that your learning activities are relevant to the topic? What
factors do you consider?
I ensure that the learning activities which I have prepared are relevant to
the topic in a way that I planned it all with the help of the curriculum guide and
considering the learning competencies and learning standard of each lessons.
By consulting to my cooperating teacher, I can get various information on how to
conduct activities to make it more student- centered and realistic. Moreover, I
always integrate values and connect my lessons to real life scenarios and
applications for them to have self-actualization and real-life realizations.

3. To what extent do you participate in and or cooperate with your cooperating
teacher in the planning and implementing of the classroom activities that
contribute to the development of your learners? Provide two examples.
I always participate and cooperate with my cooperating teacher by
consulting her on the plans I have for the activities and discussion before
my actual teaching. After my actual teaching I always go to her to hear
some feedback for I also need to know what are my strength and what
are the things that I need to work for improvements.
We always have our conference with my cooperating teacher on
what are the best activities that would fit to our lesson at the same time,
activities that the students will actively participate and enjoy while
learning. Moreover, I always ask my cooperating teacher for guidance
and if my strategies in teaching are effective or not.
REFLECTIVE 2: USING INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
1. How often do you make use of available materials in teaching? What evidences
would show that these materials contribute to the attainment of your lesson’s
objectives?
I make use of the availability of the teaching materials by using
instructional materials that are relevant and appropriate for the classroom
setting. I always prepare PowerPoint presentations and download
necessary videos to deepen understanding and broadening their ideas
regarding with the topic; I make sure to provide the actual materials
needed as much as possible for meaningful learning and I noticed that
these materials contribute a lot in a sense that they became more
interesting and curious about our lessons.

2. Are your instructional materials interesting enough to arouse and sustain the
interest of the learners? What evidences would show that you have been
successful in ensuring their effectiveness?
I’m confident to say that my instructional materials are interesting
enough to arouse and sustain the interest of the learners because I have
provided them the actual materials needed that enables them to
manipulate and understand how it functions, how it is being done and
how it works through this students are attentive and eager to learn;
according to Edgars Dale Cone of experiences theory at direct purposeful
experience students learns best when they can experience and
manipulate the real thing according to this there is a large percentage of
retention in learning if the learners will be engage and actively participate
in the learning process.
REFLECTIVE 3: ACTUAL TEACHING
1. Cite evidence that would show the relevance of learning activities to lesson's
objectives?
My learning activities are all relevant to the lesson’s objective
because I always make sure that my activities would jive to my learning
outcomes. One of our topic is Computer Assembly and Disassembly, one
of my objective is that they will be able to perform the proper way of
assembling and disassembling of computers, so I let my students to first
know what is the process in doing such thing and after that I allowed
them to manipulate and perform the proper way of computer assembly
and disassembly, this is one of many activities I have conducted in my
class that jives to my objectives. I observed that my students are enjoying
at the same time learning. I also encourage my students to build ideas
and to discover things before getting into our discussion. I also applied
the various concepts and theories to make the learning more effective.

2. What verbal and non-verbal communication skills do you apply to make your
teaching effective? Cite instances.
I make use of the verbal and non-verbal skills in a way that I
incorporate facial expressions, gestures and audible voice while
discussing for I know that it will help the students to feel alive attentive
during discussions. In my computer hardware servicing I always do my
demonstrations before I let them to demonstrate the proper ways of
performing activities. In my Computer education class the first thing that I
do is to demonstrate how to manipulate and after that I will give them
task to do and I will walk around the class to check if they are working on
it and able to understand how to do things, while everybody is working to
their task I always insert ideas and give some humors to make the class
lively. They can’t absorb all the information through listening especially for
our subject that really needs application, that is why audible voice,
gestures and facial expressions are some of the weapons to have a more
attentive and interesting class discussions.
3. To what extent are your learning outcomes achieved? How do you know? What
are the indicators?
My students are the living evidences that all of my learning
outcomes has been achieved that they really learnt something in our day-
by-day activities. My indicators in achieving the learning outcomes is
when I ask questions to my students and they will be able to answer it,
when I let my students to perform a certain task and they can perform
lastly, they can already relate our lessons to real scenarios of life and
give values to each lesson. Moreover, I can say that I achieve the
learning outcomes if my students can apply all of it into real-life situations.

REFLECTIVE 4: TEST PREPARATION
1. What measures have you taken to assure yourself that your test items were clear
and simple?
I can assure that my test items were clear and simple for I already
discussed it with them; the questions are all relevant to the topics tackled
and I made the test questions from simple to complex items; I also
considered the difficulty of the test according to their grade level. I have
also given the instructions clearly so that students can easily follow and
understand it. The test is realistic and achievable in a given span of time.
2. What problems have you encountered in preparing your test? How can you
respond to them?
I don’t have any problems in preparing and constructing the test
because all the parts and question in my test was discussed ahead of
time. There is an instance where I also let my cooperating teacher to
check if my test is valid and reliable.
3. Do your test items provide for a wide range of differences in ability? How?
Yes, in my test items, I have prepared different type of test, the
written test and the performance test. The written test includes test 1:
multiple choices. In test 2: identification, and in test 3: Enumeration while
my performance task is the computer assembly and disassembly.
According to Howard Gardner there are multiple intelligences, and each
learner possess different intelligence, through those various way of giving
test it would help to cater the different learners’ abilities by this I can
easily identify students’ strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, tests are
based on behavioral objectives and are classified into cognitive
(knowledge) and psychomotor (skills).

REFLECTIVE 5: CHECKING, MARKING, AND INTERPRETATION OF TEST
RESULTS
1. What types of information about pupil’s/student’s progress can be obtained by
marking the test?
Teachers conducts formative and summative assessments,
formative is given right after the discussion while summative is at the end
of every quarter. By giving assessment and checking the test teachers
would be able to figure out what are the things needed by the students to
go over; teachers would be able to identify if students have learnt
something or they need to reteach nor proceed to the next lesson/topic.
By checking these things teachers would be able to interpret the progress
of each learner. Furthermore, this measures to what extent has your
learning outcomes attained.
2. If the test result shows that 50% of learner’s get low marks, what does this tell
you?
If the test result shows that 50% of learner’s get low marks, the
implication of this is that the test might be invalid and unreliable, not valid
because it inappropriate and not suitable for their grade level; the
instructions are vague that student were not able to understand; the
structure of the test does not match to the level of the students.
Unreliable in some instances because students were not given enough
time to take the test and the test only focuses on one ability. Lastly,
students might not understand the topic at all. If that would be the case, I
will reteach my lesson and give my students a post- test, I will adjust the
span of time to answer the questions given and make sure that my
questions are valid and reliable and after doing all those things I will
check if they already understood and has broaden the ideas and
knowledge to our topic and that’s the time I can proceed to my next topic.

REFLECTIVE 6: SELF-EVALUATION
1. What concerns and/or major issues and/or concerns did you encounter during
practice teaching? How did you resolve these?
In my 2 months of stay in my cooperating school, I haven’t
encountered any issues, concerns or problem maybe because I made
myself responsible enough as a student teacher. My first duty wasn’t
easy, I am having a hard time in adjusting the environment and adjusting
from the attitudes and behaviors of my students. As day-by-day pass by I
can already cope up with the adjustments I needed. During my practice
teaching I doesn’t only teach I also non- teaching responsibilities,
because my CT was assigned in the computer laboratory, I also need to
render time in computer laboratory to help my CT in taking care and
observing the students who are using the laboratory. The only thing that I
was concern of is that the subject given to me is not my forte and I don’t
have any ideas to it, but I took it as a challenge and as time pass I realize
how lucky I am, because I’m learning new things in different field, way
back then I don’t have any idea on how and what will I teach to my
students, fortunately by the guidance of my cooperating teacher I
conquered it all. By giving various activities I am teaching while learning. I
have resolved all my concerns by coping up to the adjustments I need
and being opened to comments and suggestions given by the more
knowledgeable person.

2. Did you find your consultation, conferences with your Cooperating Teacher, TEI
practicum supervisors and other practicum mentors important? Cite an instance
where such was most significant. Why?
I can say that consultations and conferences with my cooperating
teacher and head teacher are very essential because, it helps me to
broaden the horizon of my understanding and ideas as well as becoming
a better student teacher. During our conference with my cooperating
teacher I always bring bags to put all the knowledge she will share, all the
strategies and activities that would best fit for our lessons. In my first
demonstration, we had our conference and her feedbacks made me feel
motivated and inspired to become a teacher when she said “okay kayo ka
ma’am, maestrahunon jud ka” those words coming from a great teacher
is overwhelming. Moreover, my cooperating teacher always shares her
knowledge on how will I make my class more interactive that students will
enjoy while learning. Thus, all of her words of wisdom, advises,
suggestions and strategies she had imparted to me will marked into my
mind and I will surely bring to the next chapter of my teaching and help
me to become a globally competitive teacher one of these days.

MY FSTD EXPERIENCE
I used to think teaching was a job. And then I thought it was a profession. And now I'm
of the opinion that it's a calling. It's a very noble calling.
The day before my final demonstration, I can't explain what I felt during that day.
It's like tomorrow is my final demonstration, my final judgment (insert all emotions).
Really! I don't know what to do. I mean, I have mastery of the subject matter that I will
teach but I feel nervous and at the same time, excitement.
The next day, it's my final demonstration already and it's no turning back. During
my final demonstration, I know that my students feel intimidating and so do I. I don't
know why. Maybe because they did not use to have observers during regular class
hours or maybe they were not prepared for the lesson which I discussed to them for
there were so busy for a week ago because of their SPA. Hence, as time goes by, all
things went slowly as it was meant to be. I have really appreciated their efforts just to
help me. They're being aware that my final demonstration will be the basis to pass my
practicum. Moreover, I know that I will make it because I have really worked hard in
planning and implementing the necessities for my final demonstration, from my lesson
plan to my instructional materials and approaches that I will use.
Generally, I enjoyed my final demonstration. I enjoyed my stay in the cooperating
school with my co-STs, cooperating teachers, and my students. I never think to give-up
and to quit though it is really hard to manage the behavior of the students but in my own
philosophy of teaching, I did not teach them all the knowledge that they need but I also
teach them how to be themselves and act according to their morality. Aristotle said that
"Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all". For I know that
grades are not the basis of being intelligent, it is the character that speaks how intelligent
you are as a person, as an individual. Thus, I inculcate them to never get fed up and
continue to go ahead having strong confidence and belief in themselves for I believe that
DAVAO CENTRAL COLLEGE
Juan Dela Cruz St.Toril, Davao City (Tel.No. 291-1882)
is their belief, courage, patience and hard work which will surely lead them ahead and
give them a bright future.
Furthermore, it's my responsibility; sometimes I loved and care and sometimes
loaded them with hard tasks it is because I want to train them and to discipline them for I
know that they have the capacity to have a wide range of knowledge and wisdom and
the ability to apply their learning in real life situations. Also, it is true that I taught them all
the knowledge that I have acquired as a student teacher however it is also true that I too
have learned so much from all of them. As closing remarks to them, I leave them a line
from Albert Einstein that "try not to become a person of success, but rather try to
become a person of value". It was a long journey, however, spent very quickly. A quick
hurricane filled with so much love and learning yet a memorable one.
