QRC: KNOWLEDGE CENTER – CREATING A KNOWLEDGE PATH
AUDIENCE: Knowledge Center Administrator, Training Lead.
PURPOSE: To provide a checklist of the process steps to create a Knowledge Path and add Activities to
the Knowledge Path in Knowledge Center. A Knowledge Path is a series of activities grouped together in
a logical fashion to develop a curriculum of study for users. Knowledge Paths are assigned to User
Groups.
PREREQUISITE: Ensure that you have administrative rights in Knowledge Center to make changes. Also,
all course content must have been published from User Productivity Kit (UPK) to Knowledge Center.
Check each item off after completing that activity step.
COMPLETE ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
1. In the Navigation column, click the Manager link.
The User Management page displays.
Create a Knowledge Path
2. Click the Knowledge Paths link.
The Knowledge Paths Management page displays.
3. Click the Create path button.
The Path Properties page displays.
4. In the General section, click the Name field.
Enter the name of the Knowledge Path.
Note: A Knowledge Path is a set of Activities that each enrolled user must take (e.g.,
General Ledger User). A Knowledge Path generally contains the following:
A. The course content published from UPK:
a. The course simulations section.
b. The course assessment section.
B. (Optional) The course materials published to a section from UPK which is a
section containing hyperlinks to the course materials:
a. The course presentation.
b. The Quick Reference Cards (QRCs) and/or Job Aids for the course.
5. Click the Save button.
The message, “The Information was successfully updated.”, displays to the right of
the Save button.
6. Click the Activities link.
The [Knowledge Path Name]: Activities page displays.

7. Add the primary activity to the Knowledge Path.
In the Edit column, click the Edit button to add the activity.
8. In the Subject section, to the right of the Title Properties field, click the Browse
button.
The Select Content for Activity window displays.
Locate and Select the Published Activity
Note: The published activity is the course simulations and assessment from UPK.
9. Click the Search field.
10. Enter the name of the activity in the Search field.
Click the Search button.
11. The search results display.
Click the Activity from the list of search results.
12. Click the Select button.
13. General section; Name field. - Change
14. Click the Save button.
The message, “The Information was successfully updated.”, displays to the right of
the Save button.
15. Click the Back to Activities button.
The [Knowledge Path Name]: Activities page displays.
16. Add an additional Activity to the Knowledge Path.
Note: Steps 15 – 22 are optional.
In the Add column, click the Add button to add the activity.
17. In the Subject section, click the Browse button.
The Select Content for Activity window displays.
18. Locate the published activity.
Note: The additional published activity may be simulations or course materials.
Click the Search field.

19. Enter the name of the Activity in the Search field.
Click the Search button.
The search results display.
20. Select the published Activity.
Click the Activity from the list of search results.
21. Click the Select button.
Note: The Activity name displays in the Title Properties field.
22. Click the Save button.
The message, “The Information was successfully updated.”, displays to the right of
the Save button.
Note: The Activity name displays in the General section Name field. Do not change
the name.
23. Click the Back to Activities button.
The [Knowledge Path Name]: Activities page displays.
24. Click the Home button.
