Matters signified by various houses / bhavas
Note: every bhava negates the matters of the bhava which is 12th from it.
Example: 7th house of marriage and partnership is negated by the 6 th bhava which
shows separation or divorce etc. 6th bhava matter of disease in negated by the 5 th
bhava which shows cure. 4th bhava signifies ‘entry into a house’. 3rd bhava, which
is 12th to 4th, shows
‘exit from the house’ that is change of residence and so on.
Matters signified by 1st bhava:- (personality house);
Life & longevity (span of life),
health, resistance to disease, physical & mental propensities, possible accidents,
especially those that might affect the health,
success or failures in one’s attempts,
physical appearance and structure, mannerisms & identity, color of the native,
physical status & constitution, native’s vitality, inherent strength of physical
constitution, personal characteristics,
governs all matters connected with the life of the native, place of residence,
physical strength, loss of money (being 12th to 2nd)
side.
Matters signified by 2nd bhava:-
Possessions, money, , personal wealth earning capacity, how one meets his
financial liabilities, acquisitions through personal efforts, negotiable or movable
assets, desire for material status, the probability of becoming rich at one time or
other,
food & clothes,
right eye, face, speech & quality of speech, teeth,
kutumbha, all family matters,
2nd marriage, status of married life, this house tells one’s 2 nd marriage, if 2nd cusp
sub lord signifies 7 one has a legal marriage and if not 7 but 11, one has a keep.
whether economical or extravagant,
death, 2nd when connected to badhaka house death occurs,
truth or falsehood, oratorical power,
Matters signified by 3rd bhava:-
Vikrama bhava, one’s problems and firmness in his actions,
one’s mental inclination and ability, performance, specialisation, mental
concentration, inclination to study,
right ear and arms,

short travels, selling of properties, change of one’s residence,
negotiations and signing of contracts, mediator,
all kinds of correspondence and letters papers, writing, accounting, means of
communication such as cycle, bus, tram, rail, post office, letter boxes, telephone,
telegraph, T.V. sets, teleprint, signals, airmail, fax messages etc., books and
publications, rumors interviews, meeting discussion, communication,
to leave parent house at the time of marriage, change of residence,
longevity,
Matters signified by 4th bhava:-
lands, fixed properties, farming, building & real estate, agriculture, fields, mines, ,
landed & immovable properties, architecture
home and its environments,
mother, vehicles,
sukham,
vidya,
education & degree qualification, school and collage education, educational
institute and admission thereofregular attendance in school,
entry into a house,
indication of place where stolen property is hidden,
private affairs, heart,
termination or conclusion and end of every undertaking,
permanent place of residence, permanent possession, lands, buildings.
Matters signified by 5th bhava:-
house of progeny, children,
creative self expression, intellect, social activity,
romantic activity, sexual involvement, pursuit of pleasure, pleasure house,
cure from diseases,
stock market activities, speculations, inclination to speculate but profit to
opponent,
gambling, betting, chance money like lottery, gift etc.,
entertainment activity involving, arts, sports, social popularity or lack of it,
pregnancy & child birth,
artistic talents,
games, sports, romance, amusement places,
material & physical pleasures, cinema, drama & music, 5 th represents all places of
entertainments, games like cards, cross word puzzles, dice, lottery, gambling or
betting, ceremonies & functions, music instruments,

love affairs & love making, falling in love, legitimate & illegitimate attraction,
attraction between the opposite sex, the sex instincts, spiritual practices & devotion
to god, visit to holy places,
gains to partner, profit to the opponent,
festive occasions.
If to 11, 8, 5 one has illcit connection.
Matters signified by 6th bhava:-
house of sickness and payments in one form or the other, diseases,
work and the service rendered by the individual, employees, subordinates,
servants, service,
house of debt or borrowing,
pet animals and small cattle,
agricultural tenant or house tenant,
favourable results in competition, or law suits or elections,
debts, over draft facilities,
law suits,
separation from life or business partner,
Matters signified by 7th bhava:-
house of union or earthy ties, marriage house, wife or husband, partnerships of
every kind, open enemies, rivals in all contests, the partner in trade or business,
degree of success achieved through partnership, to all those with whom the native
enters into any contract or agreement,
with whom the native is engaged in quarrels & comes into conflict through open
arguments and litigation, the native’s competitor in any undertaking, his rival in
any contest, elections and his public adversaries
maraka house, danger to longevity,
genitals,
5th and 7th combination tells love partner,
Matters signified by 8th bhava:-
mangalyasthana,
life, longevity,
defeat or insult, sorrow, scandal, ill- repute,
death, mode of death,
obstacles, impediments, misery and misfortune, intense mental worry, punishment
and anxious moments,
inheritance, properties through will, insurance money, unearned money passing
following the demise of some one,
prone to accidents or involved into accidents,

prolonged diseases and misery,

house of hidden things, diseases of the anus,
urinary disease and venerial complaints, flow of sexual force,

suspension or any penalty to those in service.
Matters signified by 9th bhava:-
travel house, longer communications, long journeys, sea voyages & air travel,
father, heredity,
religions, philosophic, god & religion, spiritual initiation, the blessings received
from guru,
guru or preceptor, affairs concerning temples, churches, mosques, all religious
institutions, pilgrims,
higher education, higher thought and higher knowledge, one’s success in an
examination, universities,
this house is ascribed to law, legal arbitration, lawyers, barrister, the courts, law,
legal arbitration,
spiritual initiation, teaching and everything connected to it, house of dharma or
virtue communication with spirits, dharma, teaching and everything connected to
it, divine worship,
sports men,
bhagya, house of faith, wisdom,
dreams and visions, communications with spirits and the like,
Matters signified by 10th bhava:-
house of career, livelihood, occupation, profession,
success, rank or position, honour, honour, dignity and public esteem, public status
and reputation, administrative responsibilities, & duties, one’s fame, honour
recognition and public esteem, the status to command and impose supremacy over
others, honour from govt. increased popularity.
relationship with employers, bosses, authority figures, and governmental
authorities, govt. and the orders issued on the behalf of the govt. employer &
superior, promotion and advancement,
Matters signified by 11th bhava:-
called the labhasthana and so it stands for all kinds of income and receipts in
many a way.

It is called the house of friends and supporters and the allies, social & financial
status,
any house is connected to 11th,the house that house matters are sure to be realised,
elder brothers and sisters,
house of friends, one’s favourites and flatterers,
11th stands for lasting friendship & gains,
House of 7 ‘P’s – peace, pleasure, profit, progeny, prosperity, permanent tie of
friendship, partner’s union.
Victory in conflict, litigation, competition, or war during sub period of 11th lord.
Matters signified by 12th bhava:-
house of loss, separation, & hospitalization,
mokshasthana,
expenses out weighing income, investments, spends money on long travels or
overseas travels, life in foreign place or away from relations, for repayment of
loans 12th should be referred to along with 8th, prosecution and imprisonment,
unexpected troubles as a result of secret inimical activities,
occult matters,
amputation of the limbs,
house of charity given and received, expenses, losses, donations, charity and
association with philanthropic institutions,
investments on landed or immovable property, discharge of loan,
imprisonment and secret toil of mind, fear and inferiority complex, anxiety,
misgivings, suspicion etc,
house of solitude, secret and silent sufferings and self–undoing, secret enemies,
comforts of bed.
