Creating

a Custom Object - Production


1. Search for Object Manager (from Lightning Experience) in the quick find menu and
select Object Manager.
2. Click Create > New. The New Custom Object window displays.
3. Enter the Label as Production and press the TAB key on your keyboard. Notice the
Object Name field populates.
4. Enter the Plural Label as Productions.
5. Leave the Object Name field to the default Production.
6. Enter a Description.
7. Leave the default for Context-Sensitive Help Setting.
8. Leave the default of Record Name as Production Name and Data Type as Text.
9. Check all of the Optional Features checkboxes for Allow Reports, Allow Activities, Track
Field History and Allow in Chatter Groups.
10. Leave the Object Classification Checkboxes checked.
11. Leave the Deployed radio button checked in the Deployment Status section.
12. Check the Allow Search checkbox.
13. Check Add Notes and Attachments related list to default page layout.
14. Launch New Custom Tab Wizard after saving this custom object.
15. Click Save. The New Custom Object Tab screen displays.
16. Select a Tab Style icon. I chose TV Widescreen.
17. Enter a Description.
18. Click Next. Step 2 of 3 displays of the New Custom Object Tab screen.
19. Select Default Off in the first dropdown and then check the Apply a different tab
visibility for each profile radio button.
20. Set the Tab Visibility to Default On for the System Administrator and Custom Marketing
Profile.
21. Click Next.
22. Uncheck all checkboxes for Include Tab.
23. Check the Sales tab checkbox.
24. Click Save.

Creating a Custom Object – Person


From Salesforce Classic:
1. From Setup, go to Create > Objects.
2. Click New Custom Object.
3. Enter the label of Person.
4. Enter the Plural Label of Persons.
5. Complete the same steps as in the previous section to complete the steps of creating
the Person custom object.

Creating a Custom Object – Production Position
1. Repeat the same steps as found in the first section above, entering a Label of
Production Position and Plural Label of Production Positions.
2. Complete the steps of the Wizard and save the custom object.
