Class - WH Question

Question words are words used to ask questions that begin with "W" or "H", such as who, what, when, where, why, how, which, whose, whom. They are used to seek information about people, places, reasons, times, manners, objects, ideas, actions, choices, possessions, and the object of verbs. Example questions are provided to illustrate the use of each question word. An exercise is then provided with incomplete sentences to be completed by filling in the missing information asked by the question words.

Question words are also called wh questions because they include the letters 'W' and 'H'.

Asking questions

Example:
James writes good poems. — Who writes good poems?

He can speak Chinese. — What can he speak?

They are leaving tonight. — When are they leaving?

The play was interesting. — How was the play?

They go to the movies every Saturday. — Where do they go every Saturday?

He wakes up early. — When does he wake up?
