A land was originally declared for tax purposes in the name of Sinfroso Mendoza,
father of Honorata Bolante. Sinfroso died in 1930. Margarito, brother of Sinfroso
and father of the petitioners, had the tax declaration on the land cancelled and
declared in his name on the basis of an affidavit signed by Bolante and her mother.
Honorata is the present occupant of the land. During a cadastral survey, Honorata
had a dispute on the ownership of the land with his other uncle Miguel.
