4.0 PRE-CLEANING
4.1 SURFACE PROFILE
4.1.1 Roughness or anchor pattern measurement shall be carried out by the Contractor using
instruments and procedures approved by the Owner. Where anchor patterns are not specified
in the CM technical data sheet, Table 4.1 below shall be used as a guide for determining the
anchor pattern.

4.1.2 Abrasives used in blast cleaning steels shall generally be in accordance with ISO 8504-2 and
Table 4.2. In the event of other type of abrasive media not described in ISO 8504-2 and Table
4.2 is to be used, prior written approval from Owner shall be obtained.
