Method Statement on

Construction of Power transformer Foundation at Bolawatta Grid Sub


Station
BID NO: CEB/TCP/DGM/CPTFBGS/2020/1
1. shop drawing is submitted for the prior approval of the engineer
2.Material samples with technical data sheets will be submitted prior to purchase of material.
3.a sample of each category will be submitted for the approval to get the engineer approval.
4.Concrete ready mix trial will be done to get prior approval for ready mix plant and mix designs.
Galvanizing works & erection
1. all welding fabrications will be carried out our work shop.
2. all sharp edges will be grinded and prepared for the galvanizing works.
3. All fabrications is requested for the engineer inspections prior to galvanizing
4. All galvernizing works will be carried out at Ms Lanka Transformers (Pvt) ltd galvernizing plant
at Sapugaskanda industrial zone.
5.galvernised fabrications will be inspected by the engineer prior to collect from the galvernizing
plant.
6. all installations will be carried out as per the drawings with correct line and level
7. After erection of galvanizing elements will be inspected and corrected if any from cold
galvanizing spray
Transformer Base Construction
1.The working area is power isolated and under taken from client
2.Safety hording will be erected and isolate the working area.
3.Remove the surface chipping and stack in safe place.
4.brake the concrete from electrical barkers or compressor barkers depending on the quality of
concrete.
5.excavate the proposed location manually. Care shall be taken not to damage underground cables
if found. And dispose the surplus to a safe location.
6. correct level and line is maintained while constant survey works
7.maintain 450 mm working space around tank
8.lean concrete is paced after ensure correct level and line.
9. Base and wall steel starters will be fabricated and inspected
10. Shuttering will be done and inspected prior to placing concrete.
11. water bar is inserted and prior approved concrete will be placed under inspections.
12. curing is continuing for 7 days from covering from impervious layer.
13. while curing is going on, next concrete receiving surface is roughen for rail beam base and
wall first step steel works is continuing and inspected.
14.pipe inserts will be placed;
15. shutter is placed and steel inserts and welded tacked to the steel to endure correct position are
inspected and on approval, concrete is ordered, placed and compacted.
16. curing ins done for 7 days and boards will be removed in the following day.

17.Second step of wall is also carried out under above wall concreting procedure
18. after achievement of curing periods, outside controlled filling is carried out.
19. Steel grating will be placed, and surface chipping is placed.
20. Rail is fixed and galvanize damaged surface area will be cold galvanized.
21. site is cleaned and handed over.

Skidder construction
1.Remove the surface chipping and stack in safe place.
2.brake the concrete from electrical barkers or compressor barkers depending on the quality of
concrete.
3.excavate the proposed location manually. Care shall be taken not to damage underground cables

works is continuing and inspected.
14. Shuttering for rail base (wall) will be done and inspected prior to placing concrete.
15. steel inserts will be welded tacked to the correct location and inspected.
16.concrete will be placed under inspections.
17. curing is continuing for 7 days from covering from impervious layer
18.Controll filling is carried out from excavated soil from soil compactor.
19. on achievement of correct level surface is inspected and place the surface chips
20. rail line will be installed and cold galvanizing is done for the welded surfaces.
21. All debris will be cleaned and works will be handed over to the engineer.
