Course Overview:

Information Systems have revolutionized the way organizations operate. For budding managers,
there is a need to understand the concepts and acquire skills related to design, implementation,
and usage of Information System. The course has been designed to provide participants an
exposure to the concept of Information Systems, issues faced in implementation and adoption of
Information Systems, and role of Information Systems as a source of competitive advantage.

Course Objective:

The objectives of this course are to

 Help participants understand the critical role of information systems in managing


healthcare organizations
 Help participants understand the critical role of information systems in gaining
competitive advantage
 Help participants understand the emerging technological issues and frameworks for
analyzing Information Systems applications.

Evaluation:

Grades will be determined on the basis of:

1. Class participation & attendance: 25%


2. Group assignments: 10%
3. Individual assignments: 15%
4. Module End-Test: 50%

Late submissions will attract a penalty of 5 marks.
