PROCESS PROCEDURE
1.0.0 OBJECTIVE
Define responsibilities and establish design process thereby to handle the project received from the Client.
2.0.0 SCOPE
Design of structures ensuring Quality, Economy, Environmental & Safety requirements.
3.0.0 RESPONSIBILITY
Head of Division along with supporting team members are responsible for the Scope.
4.0.0 PLANNED RESULTS
Assignments are handled so as to finish the task of Design Engineering in scheduled time.
5.0.0 PROCESS DESCRIPTION
5.1.0 PROCESS INPUTS
Technical Specifications/ Site visits shall give required inputs for which Design Engineering is required to be
done like
Scope of work pertaining to Design Engineering during Pre Tender stage and Detailed Engineering stage
Specifications as stipulated by the customer
Required Preliminary/Scheme/Lay-out drawings during pre engineering and working drawings during
detailed Engineering
Other information pertaining to site conditions like soil parameters, etc. during pre engineering and
Detailed Engineering
Information regarding time schedule for completing the Design Engineering during pre engineering and
Detailed Engineering
Other information such as details of approving agency, number of Design Documents/ Drawings to be
submitted, time frame for approval, number of copies to be submitted to customer/for site use etc., similar
Design Engineering for adjacent existing structure if any for record/ reference.
Feed back data from suppliers/ Vendors/ Divisions.
5.2.0 PROCESS FLOWCHART
Enclosed as IVRCL/OM/DES/PFC
5.3.0 PROCESS OUTPUTS
Drawing/Design documents for Quantification and Bidding during pre-tendering stage, for execution
during detailed engineering
Important details stored in data bank as required
As-built drawings, Design Completion Report stored in data bank, as required (Detailed Engineering)
Experience Certificate received from Clients stored in data bank (On completion)
5.3.0 The drawings and documents are verified by the concerned section.
Design Review shall be carried out, at least once in a month, to evaluate timely progress of design activities,
need of additional design inputs from client/ projects, etc. Review shall be carried out by the Design
coordinator.
5.4.0 Control of revisions in Drawing /BOQ/Specification
In case of any revision in drawing/BOQ etc, the superseded documents/drawings are suitably identified.
